This home was perfect for an OBX getaway! Check in was a breeze and the property was even better than advertised. Proximity to the beach was perfect and we loved that you could still see and hear it from the porch. The home was obviously cleaned shortly before we arrived, although we did notice a few small areas that were missed during the process. The home is well-loved and there were some small damages and stains on the (very comfortable!) furniture, which didn't bother us but are worth noting. The bed was pretty comfy, too! Overall this is a lovely rental within walking distance to a lot of great shops, food, and the beach. Would book again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The home was a perfect size. One of the bedrooms had trash under the night stand . (Water bottle and candy paper.) Wish there was a washer and dryer. If we make another trip to Kitty Hawk, we would look into staying here again.
Property is perfect for a small family or small group of friends. Super super close to the beach and super clean! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the beds are a little small(my husband is 6ft tall) and the water pressure isn’t great if you have multiple people showering. Other than that it was a great stay!!!
My family and I had a wonderful time. The house was conveniently located to restaurants and the beach. We will definitely come back here again.
Property was in a great location. No linens for beds, bathrooms or kitchen, so had to purchase. Was told it was in my info. Checked it several times. It was not.
What a cute house and extremely clean. The house is one block from the beach. I have not one complaint!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The location was convenient to all the places that we wanted to visit. It was a short walk to the beach, which was not overly crowded on this visit. The house was comfortable and my only complaint is that there was only a picnic table and 2 other lousy chairs on the screened in porch and no furniture on the brand new deck.
If I were just rating the location of this place, I would give it 5 stars. All things considered, I would give this place about 3.5 stars (have to do 3 or 4, so I'm rounding up). Mainly this is because the interior of the house left some important things to be desired. First of all, the floor was FILTHY. When I wore white socks inside the bottom of the socks quickly became black with dirt. It's almost as if they're using the same old dirty water to mop the house each time they clean it, or something — I don't really understand how the floor can LOOK clean but is actually filthy. I have pictures of how disgusting my brand new white socks got in this house, but I don't have a way to upload them here. I wanted to mop the place myself. You can tell they clean the place just for the appearance of cleanliness. For instance, the baseboards and window sills were pretty gross. It looks like the baseboards haven't been cleaned in over a year. This is the kind of detail I look for to find out how clean a place *really* is. I'm not a neat freak by any means, but it's important to me that a vacation rental or a hotel or whatever be clean. This rental doesn't come with linens unless you pay a fairly steep linen fee. That was kind of annoying, but we just brought our own linens. Finally, as far as the interior goes, the mattresses were REALLY uncomfortable. Like, the mattress I had in my college dorm was more comfortable than the ones in this house. If I had known this in advance and had room in the car, I would have brought a mattress topper. My back hurt from sleeping on these mattresses the entire week we were there. All that being said, I grew up on the beach and I understand that beach houses tend to be a little rough around the edges, and you shouldn't have unreasonably high expectations when staying at this place. You're paying for the location. It's very close to the beach and it's close to lots of shops and restaurants (which I look forward to being able to enjoy again after COVID...). This place IS pet friendly. We brought our foster dog. Another reviewer complained about burrs in the back yard. Yes, it's the beach, they are called sand spurs and they are everywhere. There's nothing you can do about it. I would think that anyone who has been to the beach before understand that! Brindley: Clean this place better and get better mattresses and I'd give 5 stars and would come back every year.
The inside has been beautifully redone. I would high recommend that the owner update ALL of the mattresses in the house. That is the only downside to the house.
This was a wonderful beach cottage. It as well supplied. We loved the screened in porch and the updated bathrooms. The walk to the beach was easy and we had a peek-a-boo veiw of the ocean.
