Just One House From The Beach Barefoot Bungalow Offers A Sweet Beach Vacation

We love Barefoot Bungalow! This was our 2nd stay in this house. The location can’t be beat - just 2 houses from the beach. Living spaces and bedrooms are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked, and the outdoor shower is great. There are also tons of beach chairs, towels, floats, and toys available. Property manager was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend this property!

The home was spacious, easily accommodating our group of six adults, three young children, and one baby. It was spotless upon arrival and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location couldn't have been better—just a short walk to the beach, the fishing pier, and downtown shops and restaurants. The house was also stocked with a great selection of books, movies, and toys, which kept the little ones entertained. We especially appreciated the outdoor shower—it made rinsing off sandy kids a breeze. Thanks for an amazing trip!

Barefoot Bungalow was perfect for our group of 11, ranging from 2 to 66 years old! The house was spotless, the kitchen had everything we needed, there were beach toys and towels galore, and we were just steps from the beach and a block from shopping. We loved hanging out on the front porch in the evenings and playing games in the side yard. Doug at Blue Heron was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

The beds were comfortable, the water pressure was good, and the house was outfitted with everything we needed plus some. It is within walking distance to the town/ restaurants and was just a hop to the beach. We felt safe in the well loved neighborhood and a had lovely time exploring the town/ park. The beach at low tide was really a treat. We have two small kids that enjoyed seeing the creatures that hung out in the huge tide pools. We were glad that we opted for this house instead of one on Bay Road as the dunes are tall and would have mostly blocked our view anyway. The rental company was quick to respond to any questions and very professional.

We enjoyed the week, especially the proximity to the beach! Host included lots of extras, making our stay (and packing) May re enjoyable. Thanks for having us!

We love Cape Charles and try to go for a week every summer--this is by far the best house we have had the opportunity to stay at. The location is amazing, the house is comfortable and incredibly well-stocked for everything you need on your vacation. Our search for the perfect house for our annual Cape Charles trip has officially ended--we can't wait to be back at Barefoot Bungalow next summer!

This is our second and you’re staying in this property and we plan to come back again next year! You can’t beat the space and the location. We come with our extended family and love the option for a big kids room with bunkbeds as well as rooms for all of the adults. Every amenity that we need is there including stuff for the beach! There is also ample parking, which can be hard to come by with other houses in Cape Charles. There’s even enough space for a boat! Our only complaint this year was that the floors were quite dirty when we got there. It seemed as though they had been swept, but not mopped. Our kids feet were black on the bottom after a couple of hours of playing indoors. However, that is a small thing that is easily overlooked with such a great house!
