Out of respect for our staff and their families, we do not permit check-ins or outs on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Thank you for your understanding.
It was a great Thanksgiving weekend except for the fact that we couldn’t get any football games on the tv. We had to go to a local bar/ restaurant to be able to watch our games.
This home was perfect for our family. We enjoyed lots of time on the lovely beach. The house was set up nicely and had everything we needed. The management was quick to resolve a minor issue.
The 4 of us had a wonderful stay at the cottage in Union Pier. The beach was close and wonderful. We rode bikes and played golf. The kitchen could use an upgrade, but overall the cottage was great!
Our family of 4 had the best time! The house is spacious inside and out. Lots of room for sleeping, relaxing, playing, etc. The hammock was a my favorite - it looks up into the most spectacular trees. Gorgeous! Fire pit and yard was great for the kids. There are so many little nooks, decks, sitting areas to enjoy! And the yard is very shady and fenced! Kitchen had everything we needed. (Grill was great but note that only half it works.) Beds were comfortable. Loved the short walk to Whistle Stop Cafe. Access to the beach was close. We have a 3 and a 4 year old, but with the help of a wagon, we were able to easily tote the kids and all our stuff to the beach. Note - the steps access to the beach only gets you about halfway down. Then you have a short but steep decline of sand to walk. This was easy on the way down with little ones, but not easy on the way back up. Anyone with mobility issues or super little ones would have a difficult time. There are other points of entry onto the beach, however. You would just need to walk down the street a little further. Other things to note that might be important to some - internet is not strong. My husband had to work a couple days on our stay and the internet was a little challenging. Also, there were wet towels left in the washer by the previous people/cleaners. Glad we caught it after just a couple days. Otherwise that would have gotten smelly. Overall, this place worked great for our family. We always felt safe, cozy, relaxed, and happy :)
The cottage was very updated and clean. The private beach access was just down the street. We were happy to see that they were stairs going down all the way to the bottom of the beach. We just had to walk a little bit further down the street. That was a lifesaver. The private beach was so quiet and nice and clean. We never even made it over to the public beach. We were able to rent a paddleboard and bring it to the private beach. The cottage was so clean and cute. We would definitely stay again. We love Union pier and how they have added a few more restaurants since a few years ago. It is nice to go into new Buffalo which is just a five minute drive but even nicer to have a couple of local grocery stores and restaurants walking distance
Nice small house near the beach with all the items you will need to have a great time. Beach chairs and umbrellas were great to have handy when we went to the lake. Great communication from the property manager as well.
We had a great stay at Nan's Cottage! The location can't be beat - 1 short block from the private beach access, and right around the corner from the Whistle Stop Cafe. The cottage is charming and well-taken care of: plenty of space for gathering around a game, bedrooms were comfy, the outdoor fire pit was delightful on a cool evening, and the outdoor space was lovely for morning coffee, grilling and dining. The beach chairs and towels were much appreciated for visits to the lake! We would love to visit again!
Very cozy and clean! Nice and roomy with great amenities. Very enjoyable except that the front door lock did not work . We could not get in or out of the front door , which made packing up and leaving a little tricky on the icy back door steps.
We stayed for a weekend in October for weekend that included a Notre Dame football game (45 minute drive from Union Pier). Place was clean and well-kept and is consistent with the listing description. There are three good-sized bedrooms (one with 2 bunk beds) and two nice bathrooms. Kitchen was appropriately stocked. Lots of towels for beach use. Nice outdoor dining space and fire pit (which we didn't use). Checkout time was a bit early (10) - made it feel rushed on Sunday morning. 11:00 check out would be more reasonable. Didn't receive check in instructions until check-in day (Friday) - when I reached out to the property manager.
This was just as advertised. Great beach access; cozy and clean accommodations in the charming Union Pier area. We would stay here again.
