A log cabin hand-crafted with large living in mind. Tucked away in the trees beside a babbling brook, the cabin feels like an enclave unto itself, yet its proximity to the Aspens makes it convenience incarnate.
The experience outside with the ground floor patio featuring a hot tub, gas grill and seating. A brand new upstairs deck affords mountain views.
The magic continues inside: river rock lines the foyer, and taxidermy mounts peak from the great room. Beside the front door lies a bedroom with twin bunk beds, a stereo, closet and built-in shelves. Artful light fixtures and photography decorate the walls.
Continue on into the great room, where huge windows funnel in light. The two-story river rock fireplace, fronted by an intricate fireplace screen, presides over the expansive living space. Two deep leather sofas and a matching loveseat offer ample seating in front of the big-screen plasma TV and DVD player. Mounts of animals indigenous to the valley, from a massive bull moose to a wily jackalope, line the walls, as do historic photography and memorabilia. French doors open onto the aforementioned patio. An electric keyboard invites entertaining, as do the cubbies of board games.
The attached open kitchen features a vintage Frontier Gas sign (Rarin' To Go, indeed!) and six tooled leather barstools. Meanwhile, a large dining table sets eight. Outfitted for gourmet cooking, the kitchen boasts custom cabinetry and new high-end appliances including a gas stove. A pantry, laundry room and full bathroom round out the living area amenities.
A second ground-floor bedroom features a lodgepole pine king bed and a twin daybed. A gas stove, flat-screen TV and country Western bedding make for a cozy room.
Climb the stairs and find two twin beds tucked under the eaves of the loft overlooking the living room. Benches and a bookcase make the loft a lovely perch for more guests.
The first upstairs bedroom features a queen lodgepole pine bed and a vintage cobalt-blue stove. The ensuite bathroom features checkboard tiles and a closet. Its mirror bedroom lies across the hall with a queen bed, a telescope sighted on the Tetons and an ensuite bathroom with a closet and black-and-white tiles.
A recently-renovated mother-in-law apartment features a large deck, studio kitchen, dining table and living space with a leather loveseat, gas stove and TV. A washer/dryer is tucked inside a closet. The studio's apartment features a queen bed with deck access and a brand new bathroom with slate floors, a river rock shower and pine countertops.
Conveniently located four miles from Teton Village, Macker's Cabin sits directly across from the Aspens entrance, making it steps away from the Aspens market.
*Please note, gatherings greater than the maximum occupancy are not permitted in this property. The owner keeps a vehicle in the driveway.
We loved everything about it! The hot tub was amazing after hikes and s’mores at the fire pit were a blast
Fun property that is well-equipped and well-supplied. Hot tub and fire pit a great respite after days hiking. Only downside is traffic noise to one side of the house, but that is offset by fact that a small market, with great wine selection is across the road, as well as a first-rate bakery/cafe, Persephone.
Macker’s cabin was precisely what a family ski vacation is all about…quaint, cozy, clean, and comfortable. Ideally located five minutes from JH ski area and with all amenities across the street at Aspens Market…so convenient and accommodating. The cabin is what we all remember when we were younger and allows family and friends to decompress and enjoy your surroundings and the locale. The JHRL staff is very friendly and responsive …from the management (Michael) to the technicians (Zach & Travis) on any issues that crop up…they want to ensure your stay is enjoyable and carefree; same with owners. We’ve been skiing Breck, Vail, Beaver Creek for over 25 years and Jackson Hole and Macker’s cabin will see us coming back next year. Thanks for a great time and the opportunity to enjoy Jackson Hole, Wilson, and Macker’s cabin! Best regards… J.R.
This is a great place for a group of friends and or family
Really convenient location 5 minutes from Teton Village with a market across the road. Very clean, lots of towels, everything in working order--a real lodge feel.
Very easy & accommodating to rent. Great location!
Our family group of six adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cabin home. It offered all of the comforts of home, with a truly authentic Wyoming feel. Check-in was simple. beds were comfy, hot-tub was put to good use. Could hear some elk around the home in the wee hours of the morning. Location was convenient to downtown Jackson, the airport and the National Parks.
Overall we were very comfortable with the property, plenty of room for 10 adults and 2-children. (There are a few areas of minor concern-dusting of the antler chandelier, had cobwebs, the kitchen oven door was sprung, so could not turn the light off, also, it looked like something had leaked in the bottom kitchen drawer prior to our visit-needs cleaned, the one blind in the master suite does not go all the way down.) Would be nice to have a couple of bare shelves for groceries, in the pantry. The deck was very slick and snowy, we had to provide snow melt. The hot tub and fire pit were a big hit. We enjoyed the ambience of fire place, and chandelier, it was very cozy and comfortable. The puzzles and games were handy for spare time. Lots of chairs!!! Felt like home, great having washer and dryer on both levels.
I would not recommend. Pictures on-line are very deceiving. Master bedroom w/ no closet, walk through bedrooms, dated bathrooms, junk car in the yard, no patio furniture, close to highway (noise & headlights), fireplace did not work, poor matresses, and mice scratching around in the ceiling all night.
Our Wyoming family vacation was enhanced by the warmth and tranquility of this perfectly appointed home. Every amenity was available to us. Our days were spent hiking and discovering the natural beauty around us, while our evenings were spent reconnecting in the hot tub and around the fire pit. Thank you for providing us the perfect retreat for family to come together and truly relax We highly recommend staying here and hope to return one day very soon!
