Perfect location, within walking distance of food and amusements. Overall, recommend for stay.
We loved the vibe of the open concept main floor and the neighbourhood was quite eclectic. The house was close to shopping, restaurants and a short Uber ride to the Capitol area. The house was large enough for 3 couples and we enjoyed the ability to make our own meals. Unfortunately, we visited during a heat wave and the central air conditioning in the house does not extend to the second floor. There is a window unit in one bedroom upstairs but the other two rooms only had fans. Because the air outside was stifling, opening the windows didn't help either. And, the neighbourhood was noisy enough that having a window open at night was disruptive. The beautiful upper deck couldn't be used as it was like a sauna out there. The second night we were there, the central air conditioning broke down. The property manger did not have it fixed before we left so we were 3 nights and 2 1/2 days without a/c in the house except for one bedroom upstairs. We even tried troubleshooting the problem ourselves including a trip to Home Depot to replace fuses. The management company did provide us with a small rebate but it took 17 days of repeatedly inquiring for that to happen.
The property needs work before renting again. Lights cord ran from ceiling to extension cord on table looked horrible and unsafe. Multiple other obvious electrical issues. Smell of mold. Spiders everywhere, very visible rodent traps. Soiled rugs, hair in beds, random change laying around. No air upstairs, other than small plug in fans. Bad paint job, worn down steps, horrible flooring job, crowded furniture, unsafe sitting area outside, damaged walls, damaged sheet rock. A complete mess.
Hosts are fantastic. Loved that the check out is so easy. While we do clean up after ourselves, there was not a big checklist. The hosts are more focused on their guests having a wonderful stay than specific rules on what to do with linens and dishes. No stress departure! We had a great weekend.
We truly loved our stay and it truly felt like a home away from home. We definitely will be back:)
Our group of 6 had a great time cooking and relaxing at this spacious house after walking all day around Washington. Communication with host was easy and fast.
Location and parking weren't bad. We drove and got a VPP and didn't have any issues parking. It was so nice to have so much room rather than a hotel for the kids to come take a breather at. I really appreciated the easy and quick communication with the property manager and check-in and check-out were literally effortless. Would definitely book again.
