We spent a lovely holiday at this house and can only recommend it! The owners were incredibly nice and very accommodating to our needs especially since we arrived very early with two very tired little kids. The house is well equiped with everything you could possibly need. Thank you again for having us!

We had a lovely few days at Talmont Saint Hilaire. Linda and Guy were very hospitable, and could not do more for us. We very much enjoyed the brioche and cider on arrival. The house was very clean, and had some interesting French decor. The property is in an excellent position, a minutes walk away from the boulangerie and cafes, and close to the marina. The beach is less than a five minutes drive away, and there are many local cycle routes. We would love to visit again! Thank you Linda and Guy for being excellent hosts.

The property was very French and the decor an eclectic and interesting mix of new and old. It was extremely clean and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is in a quiet area but with local shops a 2 min walk. The owner Mr Charrier could not be more accommodating. His hospitality and helpfulness was outstanding. He clearly wants everyone to have an enjoyable holiday. Nothing was too much trouble. He does not speak a great deal of English but has a friend called Yves at close hand who is equally as friendly and speaks perfect English. Mr Charrier welcomed us with brioche and homemade preserve. Basic supplies were also provided such as tea, coffee, sugar etc. Although previous reviews did not mention a shower there is a very good powerful over bath shower. It is difficult to know what else to say about this property as it was perfect and we had a wonderful 2 weeks. Would return at the drop of a hat and already planning next year's stay. Would highly recommend both the property and area. Fantastic beach is 2 mins by car or 15 min walk. Local shops and restaurants also. Don't expect hustle and bustle but a relaxing comfortable holiday with a real French feel suitable for all the family. Thank you Mr Charrier for making our holiday perfect.

Guy was a very welcoming host and provided us with delicious home made pastries, jam and drinks on our arrival. Guy and Yves talked us through in detail regarding the best local restuarants and amenities. We were left in no doubt as to the property's ideal location, especially for the excellent local boulangerie (big queues outside!), fishmongers and greengrocer's. There was also a bar across the road from the shops, which was well priced and friendly. The property has a very nice, small garden with two seating/dining areas: one quite private dining table shaded by a gazebo and the other table allowing you to soak up the sun. The main dining/lounge area was large and relaxing and the kitchen was also quite large and well equipped with an additional dining table. Towards the end of our visit Guy and his wife brought us some home made quiche and home made wine. Guy provided useful recommendations throughout our stay on where was best to eat and the places previous visitors had enjoyed visiting. I would definitely recommend people visiting the area to consider staying at this property. It was well priced, clean, homely and in very convenient location, being a short drive from the nearby beach and port (where we always found free and convenient parking). The place also had four bicycles provided for our use and the area in general was very bicycle-friendly so that is an option I recommend if you want to leave the car at home to explore Bourgenay. Above all Guy, his wife and their friend Yves were very helpful and welcoming. From speaking to them we had a very clear idea of what the area had to offer and the places worthwhile visiting. As I say, we were made to feel very welcome and Guy's introduction gave us an ideal springboard to enjoy Bourgenay, which is a compact, pretty and relaxing resort. We hope to return to Guy's house soon and I think there is no higher recommendation than that!

We (4 adults + a baby) stayed 2 weeks in Talmont. We found the house very comfortable, spacious, and extremely well equipped (especially the kitchen, but also the rest of the house: babybed, baby bathtub, hairdryer, heater for the bathroom, PC, wifi internet, ...). In the first week we needed to turn on the heating which worked perfectly well. The owner of the house lives only a few blocks away and was always ready to help when we had a question. In the second week we could take advantage of the nice, sunny terrasse and garden. As the house is located in a dead-end street, the surroundings are very quiet (we could sleep with open window). Moreover, the house is very nicely located, in walking distance to the bakery and (small) grocery shops and to different beaches. Hiking and cycling trails along the sea, through the forest or the salt marshes are also closeby, no need to take the car.
