Stayed Feb 14, 2025Disappointing Experience with Property ManagementThis rental is managed entirely by an independent property management agency, not Vrbo, and they enforce their own rules, often conflicting with Vrbo’s policies. Notably, they require a 600 deposit nearly a month before check-in, despite Vrbo stating deposits may be collected at check-in. 600 is not a trivial amount. Additionally, we experienced a bait-and-switch on electricity costs—the listing stated 0.25/kWh, but we were charged 0.35/kWh, and the property manager refused to honor the listed rate. The difference between rates are substantial since we stayed in the property for 2 full weeks. We had to get Vrbo to step-in which re-emphasizes that the independent property management is enforcing their own rules and not Vrbo's.The Stay:The goodThe property is accurate to the pictures and is stocked with most essential appliances and everyday items. The badFloors were filthy—our socks turned black within minutes of walking inside.The house gets cold during the winter (February booking). Bedrooms lacked proper heating, and despite what the representative said about turning on the AC’s heating function, it did not work. The back patio was covered in bird droppings when we arrived. While the property itself has potential, poor maintenance and misleading policies made for a frustrating stay. Would not recommend.
