Beautiful property and great location. Easy check in process, had a great time. Would love to stay again.
Wonderful stay in this roomy historic home. Close proximity to everything. Hot tub was fantastic.
House was amazing with plenty of space & amminities. The yard was very nice. Near local battle fields & shopping. the only con was it was next to the road where river riders took all their buses to get rafts so was noisy every morning.
Had a great time in Harpers Ferry. House was perfect for 2 couples and the location was great
This was a great house! Very clean snd roomy. Huge bathrooms. Kitchen well stocked and wonderful backyard grill. We were busy and it was hot so we didn’t use the hot tub but it looked crystal clear. Very cold AC and hot showers. Only things to improve- replace very sunken couch, add couch pillows, add laundry soap, and additional garbage bags.
Very relaxing stay. Better than hostels and shelters along the AT. Much appreciated the showers and laundry facilities.
There wasn’t a comfortable place to sit. The couches were broken. Wi-Fi didn’t work for the first 2 days. Management company eventually came out and got wifi fixed (it was a Comcast problem) but the home was not very nice and the couches were literally broken - seats sunk in and the leather like material ripped. Home is not ideal for young children as it sits on a fairly busy road. Management team was very nice and once they responded they to the wifi issue, super helpful. However, the house was a huge disappointment.
Great stay with everything we needed.
This cabin like home was the perfect getaway! Stayed here for a wine tour weekend in Louden County and loved finishing our days with a fire pit and hot tub! Would highly recommend, host was amazing too!
Charming home. The home as advertised. Lots of character. We did nothing in the area, our focus was celebrating Christmas with our daughter, son in law and grandchildren. Its proximity to 340 did impact noise especially at night, but we live in a very rural area, the kids live in the city and weren’t bothered at all. Kids bunk room… top bunks very close to ceiling. Beds comfortable, appliances in good working order. Nicely stocked kitchen. Lord of towels provided. All in all a great place.
This was the perfect place to relax and reconnect. The house was clean and the host was amazing.
3 generations of family spent almost a week enjoying the Harpers Ferry area. The house was great-just a few miles from HF, almost next door to River Riders and close to lots of wineries. The house was clean and had everything we needed, with plenty of off-street parking. The kitchen was well-stocked, which we appreciated as we ate almost all our meals at home. The hot tub was nice at the end of the day. We had a great experience and would definitely stay there again if we're in the area.
My wife and I have rented many different Vrbo's and we always enjoy seeing the personalities of the owners in the homes they provide. This is not a personal home, it is a part of River Riders. Although it is nicely remodeled, it is very sterile, missing those personal touches. The living room has a TV, couch, love seat and coffee table but no end tables or lamps. The TV is large and supposed to be smart but netflix, amazon prime and other streaming services wouldn't work. There is just very basic cable. The Wi-Fi was working. When I went to the River Riders office to report the TV issues, it was similar to when I checked in. They couldn't find anyone who knew anything about it. Finally they found someone who told me where to find the key. With the TV, I left a message but wasn't contacted back. This home is located on the River Riders property which gets very busy. The back yard becomes a parking lot on the weekend and their guests don't mind getting naked to change out of their wet clothes. Also there is a zip line in the side yard that their guests use all day long. Although this house is on a dead-end, the River Rider's buses and trucks run the road all day long from early morning to late afternoon. Because this house also sits down the hill from the main highway, you also get truck noise all night long. The beds are memory foam and so are very comfortable but the AC doesn't cool upstairs and downstairs the same. When the downstairs is comfortable, the upstairs is too warm. If you set the temperature where it is comfortable upstairs, the downstairs is freezing. The kitchen is modern and I did enjoy cooking there. I hate writing such a negative review but we rented this house for peace and quiet which obviously we didn't get. I think their ad should reflect the busyness and noise of this property.
We are from Canada and we chose this house as our home base for our son's wedding in Virginia. Although we were away much of the time, it served us well when we were there. The home is very spacious and located on a large lot. Maintenance was notified of a couple issues and they responded right away. The hot tub was a great hit with the kids!
It was a very nice place near the River Riders property and historic Harpers Ferry.
real nice, real clean
My husband uses a manual wheelchair and having sufficient room for him to maneuver is important for us. I chose this property based on the pictures on VRBO. It is much smaller than it looks. I did not specifically ask about handicapped access so this is all on me, but the floors are uneven and that is not apparent in the photos. If you have mobility issues discuss them with Laura prior to renting. This may not be the property for you. Otherwise, the house is well supplied with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc. Appliances worked well. I was disappointed by the lack of shampoo, conditioner, body soap, laundry detergent, etc. The description does state we are to bring our own, but this is the first rental I've used that did not offer starter supplies.
This property was great. Clean and comfortable. Beds were comfy: a few extra chairs would be nice. Everything was in working order. Bathrooms are huge. Would def stay here again!
Everyday hiking and then coming home to a spacious clean home with a hot tub was the best
Large well stocked house with a big yard and a hot tub. It was an excellent getaway.
We were about to call to notify the company that we would be checking in after the office closed when we received an email telling us someone would call or contact you the day of check in when they were closing the office to notify us of what the procedure would be. However, at 5 pm, no message or phone call. We made several calls and texts to host but no answer. Upon to arrival to home, we discovered the back door was unlocked so we settled in. We then left and had dinner. During dinner, the host texted back with apologies and told us the key was in the mailbox.
This is a large clean house with a nice hot tub. The house is very functional with large bedrooms and baths. It’s close drive to beautiful Harper’s Ferry. We were able to bring our pups. It would be a good place for a large family or two small ones. The house is lacking personality and streaming services on the tv (just very basic cable, so bring your dvds), but we had a relaxing, fun time!
