Stayed Jan 23, 2026Beautiful home right on ocean with a gorgeous outdoor area to watch dolphins and whales go by. Beautiful sunsets too. The house was immaculate and kitchen and bathrooms seemed newly renovated. Well stocked, great location (easy walk to town). We loved it!

Stayed Oct 17, 2025This was a magical vacation house. The sunset views were amazing and we even saw dolphins from the lanai. The house is located an easy walk to the beach and town. Thank you for the amazing hospitality.

Stayed May 15, 2025The rental is a cute little funky beach house on the beach the view is amazing & loved waking up being able to have a beautiful morning view with our coffee! Sunsets were amazing too loved that we were close to town able to walk to town and we could bbq own food and hang out in the outdoor space! It definately needs some updating the furniture is very well worn…..it needs a little love & is due for a good cleaning which u get charged for a cleaning fee a large fee but hasn’t been deep cleaned in a while! Was a little difficult with booking and communication as it’s a 3rd party rental through a company only partially through the vrbo ! The fees are extreme for what it is because of the 3rd party booking but was a splurge for us as we wanted a house on the beach and it definately is that! Would stay again if the booking fees weren’t so much! Made good memories & enjoyed our time there with family!

Stayed Apr 21, 2025We really enjoyed our two week stay at this property. It is located just minutes from dining, bars and shopping. The backyard is absolutely perfect and we enjoyed so much time on the lanai during our stay! The only thing we didn’t love was that it’s located on a major thoroughfare so backing out of the driveway to leave was challenging because it’s hard to see due to the angle of the driveway. Regardless we would definitely stay here again, it was the perfect place for our Hawaiian vacation!

Stayed Oct 5, 2024The location is EXCELLENT with great views of the ocean just out the back. Close to Kona… we walked there daily. Watched surfers and the home was a great base camp for all our adventures out. The lanai, patio and garden are lovely. this is the very best part of the home. The house is large enough and a very “beach house” vibe. The very small kitchen did have what we needed, but we only made light snacks, cocktails and coffee. We ate at restaurants and local food stops for the stay. The fridge was large and worked well. The electric range was difficult because the knobs have all been scrubbed where you can’t read the settings. But I can’t cook on electric anyway… so that may not be an issue for others. There is ceiling fan in the kitchen, but this was the hottest room in the place and wasn’t enough to cool it. The living room could use a A/C unit and possibly some heat blocking curtains in the kitchen for the afternoon sun? The bedroom unit air conditioners do work really well, so no issue sleeping and all the beds and bedding were very nice. We were disappointed with the layout of the home. The 3rd bedroom required you to exit the room through another person’s bedroom to leave. So very little privacy waiting for it to be clear to enter or exit that room. And the bathroom that is Jack in Jill to the living room has really zero privacy. It has one louvre door with gaps and paper thin so you know when it is occupied if you get my meaning - the door to the bedroom for

Stayed Sep 28, 2024The place was nice. Thank goodness for the air conditioning it was much needed. The wooden chair on the porch was cracked on a piece and when I sat on it without noticing, the ring broke and pinched my leg. The stove had one burner not working. The sliding doors were difficult to slide without using both hands. But overall the place was pleasant and welcoming. We all (4 of us) had a great experience. Thanks for sharing this home.

Stayed Sep 8, 2024The house was pretty cool. The beach was excellent and the sunsets from the property were amazing. The walk is doable to downtown but recommend driving if it’s too hot. Having air conditioning was a God send, while it didn’t cool the house completely it was still a relief. The hot tub is very dated and weathered. We opened it up to look in it but did not sit in it. The umbrella at the paved sitting area isn’t very useful as it is very small. There is a note on the description about there being ring cameras at the property and they are located on the lanai looking over the dining table and down the corridor looking directly at the outdoor shower. Kind of hard to let loose and relax with cameras pointed right at you. We didn’t have anything to hide so I guess no big deal. I did reach out via email to see about checking out at noon instead of 10 due to our flight time and never heard anything back. All in all I would recommend staying here. We feel the pros outweighed the cons, and the price was right.

Stayed Jul 8, 2024Overall a great location! The house is shows it's age, but the location and being on the water overrides any shortcomings. Being right on the water, steps from the beach and walking distance to town was perfect. Great communication from the property manager. They quickly resolved any issues or questions we had. We would definitely stay in this location again!

Stayed Jun 16, 2024We absolutely loved our stay at Honl's Beach Hale. It was beautiful, quiet and relaxing. The property had everything we needed during our stay. The management was great at communicating with us; each process to get house keys. We loved watching the ocean waves, the sunset, the sunrise, the boats and being so close to the ocean. The bedrooms stay cool at night with the window air conditioners and the beds were really comfortable. We highly recommend this property and will definitely stay there again if we return to Big Island.
