Home on private lake between beach & sound with WiFi, pool & hot tub

The house was fairly spartan compared to the photos on the listing. The throw pillows shown in the photos were not there, and the comforters were more basic. The WiFi did not work with my iPhone nor my child’s Fire tablet, though it worked for my laptop. Half the outlets in the kitchen didn’t work and the appliances were all pretty dated. There was a dead cockroach sitting in the hallway on the first level. Some of the deck furniture is in rough shape, and the table shown wasn’t there. The mattress and pillows in the master suite were very uncomfortable. I can’t speak to the other rooms though.On the plus side, the master bath was very nice, and the hot tub was great to relax in. The central AC had no issues keeping the house cool. The property manager was very responsive when I mentioned the WiFi issue, but I didn’t bother calling the internet company they directed me to since we were only there a couple days. The neighborhood is very peaceful and secluded with some great local shops. Thankfully, we didn’t come to the outer banks for the house because it needs some TLC.

We loved this house and this neighborhood. The little lake behind the house was great for watching birds and even deer. It’s not far from a boardwalk to the beach. The house was set up well. We plan to stay there again.

I loved the fact that my kids could ride their bikes safely and play outside, it was so quite and peaceful I would recommend staying here

Nice peaceful area. Nice home with good amenities. Easy to get to the beach but a short distance away. Most everything you need is already there if you plan to cook. Easily accommodated my family.

We had a great stay in this home- booked last min and the price was right! Clean and well maintained home- could use updated furniture in living room (so uncomfortable) and updated mattresses (perhaps all to queens or kings!). Close to dining options and drive on beach. Beautiful views day or night!

The memories we made with the family! Very peaceful and calm! Short walk to beach and pool! The hot tub was relaxing. Long driveway for kids to ride their bikes up and down.

First The cons: very poor communication and lack of follow through by vacasa . We did not get the gear credit of 250 after booking. VRBO has been amazing as always though!. We paid a cleaning fee which we were told by vacasa we had to sweep and vacuum b4 leaving. Also it was clear it hasn't been cleaned well prior to as the hot tub had a lot of sand in and master bath had a lot of mold/ mildew. There were belongings from previous renter still there. We were told access to pool 2 min walk but when given check in info the pool told could use was a 20 min drive and wrong code given. Also, the entrance with house code is dark and unlit at night and a family member fell on stairs bc of. Pros: check in to check out process was very easy. The property was great and spacious for 8 of us to spread out , have space or come together for games.so much quiet and privacy from neighbors. Hot tub was very nice after a day at beach or out. I felt the pictures adequately depicted the property. It was leisurely 5 min walk to beach access. Overall the property was amazing and if it wasn't managed by vacasa we would absolutely rent this property again. Waves market and deli and dollar general were a 5 min walk and ice cream was also a short walk. Great sunset on sound side and the deck was beautiful to sit on overlooking lake and having morning coffee.
