Beautiful views, comfortable beds
Recently my family and I stayed at this home. I recognized that the price was fairly low given the amount of people who were able to sleep there. I had read the reviews which were mixed about the property. My family was looking for a place mainly just to sleep, so we weren't planning on using the house throughout the day. However, once there we found the place dirty and lacking in basics. As mentioned in the written house guide, the well water does smell, and it also seems to leave a rusty scent on your skin. But the biggest issue was there didn't seem to be any pride or care on the condition of the home by the host. One family member found a bag of underwear and a bathing suit in her closet. What we thought was the linen closet upstairs was filled with linens just stuffed into shelves. We couldn't tell what was clean or dirty. ( we later found the linens downstairs but they were old and just a mishmash of things) Several family members slipped on the entry way steps into the living room. The shower upstairs had missing tile and didn't look as though anyone one had cleaned it for months. In the other upstairs bathroom, we found random items such as construction goggles and mechanical oil in the cabinet. In the kitchen there was one coffee mug, which we all took turns using, but had to initially wash it out before its first use. The closet in one bedroom had trash in it and an open crawl space to an attic area. The house information said there would be bottled water in the refrigerator for us to use if we didn't want to use the well water. We had to call for someone to bring the water over and it didn't show up for several hours. We are a family of campers and are used to roughing it but to come to a home and find so many flaws and what seems to be a lack of caring to take care of the property was disappointing. The location of this house is beautiful and quiet, and with just a bit more attention to cleanliness, service, and attention to just some small basic details, the potential to make it a better rated rental is there.
This was a fun stay with friends, away from it all, and above a winery! The house was rustic, and could use some upgrades, but it was spacious and comfortable. We did go down to the winery, and enjoyed a tasting. The Zin in the can was wonderful ( and I usually like Pinot noir). The house was clean and quiet. We utilized the deck, the morning was especially enjoyable. The weather was hot, but the air conditioning made it nice. The winery has live music sometimes. It would be fun to be there for a birds eye view! It was a fun stay!
If you want a house with gorgeous views and lots of space this is the place for you. The home is on top of a winery with a tasting room right below. Kenyon, the host, could not have been more accommodating and friendly. The house definitely does need work and if you can't take rust stains from well water this is not the place for you. Definitely rustic but a beautiful setting with a great host!
This property is absolutely amazing! This is a must see! You are staying on an active winery and the tasting room is below the house! Gorgeous home that I know the owner works hard on. Also the owner was very responsive and took care of everything we asked him about. I would definelty stay here again! Actually I plan on it!
We made a reservation to stay here for 7 days because we were evacuated from our home due to a wildfire. This was our third vacation rental during our 19 day evacuation. I spoke to the owner and asked if he would allow us a refund if the evacuation was lifted. He said yes so long as we agreed to pay for the weekend. I thought that was fair. As it turns out, the evacuation was lifted 20 minutes after we arrived so we didn't stay. We didn't even bring anything in from the car - just had time to walk through the house. After the weekend was over, the owner did not give us the refund I was expecting. At that time he told me that the weekend rate was higher than the per night rate I originally paid. In addition, I was charged for cleaning ($225) and charged taxes and VRBO's fee for the full week. I'm very disappointed in this transaction. Apparently VRBO's policy is to not adjust their fee of (I paid $306) unless the owner gives a full refund. By the way, their customer service is very difficult to deal with. The house itself is just okay. It's a bit run down and there is a note when you arrive that they are having issues with the well - I'm glad I didn't have to deal with that. I saw rust stains in the shower and washing machine indicating that the well is not filtered. In addition, the owner told me that if the AC is turned below 72, it freezes up. This is during 90+ degree weather. The rate here is much higher than the other places I stayed during our evacuation but the accommodations were not nearly as nice. I would not recommend this home nor VRBO.
Great place to stay. Very private. Above a winery tasting room was a bonus. Lots of room and spacious kitchen.
