Our historical home was on the first episode of season 5 of Fixer Upper. When Mrs. Gaines toured the house as the second option they called it #TheRealFixerUpper! It was not a home ultimately designed by the Gaines's but we are honored to be a small part of the filming. The excitement for the home was captured best when Joanna Gaines said I feel like a dog with a T-bone steak, I am like please give ME the T-bone steak!
Since its renovation in 2017 The Morrow House has been featured in Cottage Style Magazine, Modern Farmhouse Style Magazine and Modern Texas Living Magazine. The Morrow House is also featured in the new book titled Historic Homes of Waco Texas.

The Morrow House is a 130 year old home restored by Crown Construction in 2017. They and designer Amy Normand took elaborate care to restore the huge pocket doors, original trim around the home and refinish by hand all 33 windows to bring it back to its original stately presence. It is a beautiful piece of Waco history and there was no expense was spared in the detail, design or furnishings in this charming three bedroom three bathroom home! From the large chandeliers to the tiniest of trim work, this home is one of the most beautiful homes in Waco!

The home is owned by Kimberlee Rodriguez and her family. They are thrilled to share this Central Texas treasure with visitors while they explore the wonders of Waco. The home has a beautiful living space, fully equipped kitchen, and a large dining area for everyone to gather for dinner, games and great conversation. Our beds are luxurious and each bedroom has a private bath.

The Morrow House is close to great shopping, delicious places to eat and Baylor University!

A bit about the Rodriguez Family:
Travel, and shared experiences have always been a central part of our family time. In today’s world the demands of career and activities can pull us in many directions, but getting out of town together or sharing unique experiences has always given us meaningful ways to connect and recharge. When we moved to Waco three years ago an extraordinary journey began for each of us. One of the unexpected blessings was that we had over 80 houseguests during the first year! Everyone wanted to visit and explore Waco and we were his or her guides. It was great for us to show Central Texas to our friends and family because it encouraged us to get out and explore in new ways, and gave us new opportunities to get to know our new home. Each of our guests has had different ideas of what they want to see and do when they visit; some want to drive in the country and shop old antique shops or see pastures full of cattle. Others want to watch a Baylor athletics event and eat at one of our great local restaurants. Some want to shop all weekend and others want to walk along the Brazos and see lightning bugs! However all of them leave here loving the people and the pace of life in Waco.

After Amy and I met, I felt that the Morrow House was a part of our family journey here in Waco. The home’s beauty, history and resurrection story make it a beautiful haven for people to escape to. Our family, including my parents who moved here to join us two years ago, is thrilled to have an opportunity to share Waco with our guests from all corners of the world as we’ve been doing for the last three years.

Gorgeous historical home with lovely decor! Old charm with modern amenities. Kids loved having their own space. Location is ideal near Magnolia & downtown Waco. Easy drive to HEB for groceries and Baylor campus.

This is a picture perfect home and a great place to stay in Waco. Convenient to everything and still feel like you awake in a page from a magazine. Huge shout out to Kimberlee and Robin, our travel plans were delayed on check-in. Someone stopped by the house and had lights on throughout, it was extremely welcoming and made us feel taken care, an amazing way to end a long day! Thank you for sharing your home and allowing us to spend every day like a Saturday!

This was a GREAT property! We stayed for the Ironman competition and the location was great for that - not walking distance to the Brazos River but only about a 10 minute drive. It was clean and welcoming when we arrived. Check-in and check-out were easy. Each room had its own bathroom. It definitely had the farmhouse feel but with modern accents - great kitchen and bathrooms! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to entertain. Plenty of dishes, utensils, pots and pans, cooking utensils, and serving dishes. Two different style coffee pots and we enjoyed our coffee on the back patio each morning! Kimberlee was a fantastic host. She fielded a lot of questions ahead of our stay and her responses were always prompt. I would definitely recommend this house. We will be back!!

We loved reading about the history of Morrow House and the transformation of the property is amazing! We loved the high ceilings, original flooring and yet with all the current amenities'. We did not use the master bedroom as the bed is so high, none of us could get in it! But we had plenty of room and enjoyed coffee on the front porch and afternoon on the back deck. We spent the day at Heritage Homestead and would highly recommend it!

The Morrow will always hold a special place in our hearts as it served as home base for our big weekend in TX that included the highlight of a surprise marriage proposal for our daughter down in Temple. The property is conveniently located to all the hotspots in Waco and offers private bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms for guests. Nice outdoor entertaining space also. Host provides great communication too.

While the weather prevented us to enjoy the lovely fenced in property with ability for dining or sunning, the inside was all we needed with space enough to be private or socialize nicely. Location was convenient to all the things we came to see and much more. Put it on your bucket list

We had planned an overnight on our way home from southern Texas, and decided visiting Waco and the Magnolia shops would be the perfect stop. We booked this house because of it’s charm, and we are so glad we did. Everything from the communication to the comfort of the beds were five stars. We hope to be back one day!

I spent one night here with two coworkers and I wish we could have been there longer. It was exactly what we needed, even for such a short trip. Kimberlee was SUPER quick in responding to my questions. The house is charming, well-appointed, and with a helpful layout for my group's needs (I imagine it would be for family or friend vacations, too).

This house was just as described. It is a beautiful historic home and was extremely well appointed. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like leaving the lights on, and home baked cookies. I loved that it was well stocked with paper products and soap/shampoo/towels/etc. The host has you well prepared for emergency storm outages with lanterns, tools, batteries, and first aid. We had no complaints whatsoever, and would recommend to friends and family without hesitation.

The ad said the house was “featured” on season 5 of Fixer upper, it was, but it is not a “Fixer upper” house, if that’s what you are looking for. However very much in the same style. The neighborhood is a little sketchy. A beauty bar across one corner, apartments on the other. Construction happening next door. I’m sure this used to be an amazing neighborhood. Because of its age the inside doors don’t close well. Slide bolts have been added to bathroom and bedroom doors. Problem is because the beautiful vintage doors don’t fit exactly, the bolts hold them really tight, hard for kids or those with dexterity issues to open the bolted closed doors We had problem with Wi-Fi and direct tvs, Owner came over to fix, but had to order equipment. Beyond her control- but we missed it after long days.
