The apartment is on a 5 minutes walk to the Utica metro station. All the A and C lines stop at this station so you do not have to worry about which metro to take. There is a new restaurant, Trad, which is a nice very cozy place. In the grocery shop you can buy healthy food, eco friendly veagen etc.

Stayed here for 2 nights in November. Very attractive neighborhood. It felt safe, quiet, many restaurants in the area, close to subway. The rooms are tiny - but the bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Communication with host was great. I would definitely stay here again, next time I visit Brooklyn.

We really liked Desmond and Rodney. Not only are they there when you need a scissors, a needle or slice of onion, but they took me to the movies when the snowstorm isolated me. They are so delightful and fun. So many coffee shops and good restaurants minutes a way.

We (58 years old couple from Switzerland) enjoyed the stay here very much. The apartment is comfortable, clean and quiet, the kitchen is very tiny, but ok. Interesting neighborhood. We recommand the restaurant Manny's, just around the corner, where we have eaten several times. We saw Desmond and Rodney only once, but we could communicate without any problems per mail. We recommand it.

Just one day before arrival our booking was canceled by Desmond. He offered another, smaller, apartment. I had some questions about this apartment. Desmond answered my questions by canceling this one too! Fortunately Homeaway refunded the full amount but I had to start searching again for an apartment 1 day before leaving for NYC.

Great hosts and a very nice apartment on a very nice street. Desmond and Rodney were very accommodating. The apartment was clean and the beds are very comfortable. The street seemed safe. Coming in from the subway during the day was fine, late at night it was a bit scary (being two women alone) but it did not stop us.

This home is very clean and spacious, is on a great street, and is very close to the subway stop. There were only a few steps into the unit. Desmond our host was VERY accommodating - he went as far as to give us his cable box so we could watch our MSU Spartans in the NCAA tournament! We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The brownstone was just as described. It was very clean and comfortable after long days in Manhattan. Linens were provided. Plenty of hot water with excellent water pressure. We only used the bed in the front room and the twin in the 2nd room and they were very comfortable. We didn't use any of the appliances in the kitchen because we ate out. It was three of us traveling (my mother, me, and my daugter) and we always felt very safe. In fact, I felt like the people in Bed Stuy were friendlier than the people in Manhattan and they were definitely friendlier than the woman we encountered in Staten Island. Desmond, the owner was the most polite and helpful owner. He gave tips on how to get to the subway which was like a 6 minute walk. I felt like I was dealing with an old friend rather than a stranger. Very responsive from the start. When I go back to New York, I hope Desmond's place is available.
