The house is cute and comfy inside and out. Located on a quiet street, just a few blocks from Downtown Boulder Creek makes it super easy to stay in for meals with items purchased at New Leaf grocery or go out for meals at nearby restaurants. The bed is comfortable with plenty of blankets. The sofa is great for watching a movie, reading a book or taking a nap. Enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine on the porch listening to the nearby creek. All of it is possible and easily doable here.
The location is ideal, the house is charming, but this is definitely a summer house! The house was cold when we arrived, so we tried to turn on the natural gas heater, but it did not work. We used the two available space heaters the first night, and by morning we were frozen! We asked if the heat could be turned on and were told another space heater would be brought to us later that day. We spent the day hiking and returned to an even colder house, and the temps that night were supposed to be in the mid 30's! It was too cold to sit and read, prepare a meal, sit to eat a meal or use the bathroom.... not what we had signed up for. When a place is advertised having natural gas heater and space heaters - one would think the space heaters are supplemental heat, not primary. Sorry, but we had to leave staying only 1 of our 3 nights.... we had to rent another place locally for the other two - but they had heat! Also, lacking a few amenities - but one can get by for a couple of days without a coffee pot, microwave, towel hooks in the bathroom, or a place to set your luggage.... the heat is what was the deal breaker for us.
The property had all the comforts of home, and a fabulous kitchen (no microwave). I loved the fact it's nestled in the woodsy outskirts of Boulder Creek, but an easy walk to the main drag. Central heat was not working when I visited, but Kari had that covered with portable radiators and space heaters, few of which I needed.
Cute place at a nice location. Very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends. Kitchen needs a few items and I shared this list with Kari. I'm sure she will address the needs. I believe we were the first VRBO tenants so it's understandable that there were a few items needed to make it a 5 star VRBO. Close to town, restaurants and bars. There were two vacation kitties that would visit us each morning as we enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch.
