Historic Pet Friendly Home on 3 acres w/AC between Durango and Purgatory

It's a wonderful house and property. Very dog friendly with many outdoor activities nearby.

Outstanding stay. The kitchen was perfect for cooking Turkey day dinner for 6. The beds were very comfortable. The house was well stocked with Dishes, pans etc.. The location was beautiful and centrally located between town and Purg ski area. We would def stay here again.

A beautiful, peaceful getaway on the outskirts of Durango for our family!

A perfect place and setting for our dogs and us! It’s such a special place. Wildlife visits, beautifully remodeled home on a beautiful property, quiet and relaxing with all the comforts of home. The master king bed was incredibly comfortable. We were thankful for AC as temps were warmer than expected. Cool nights helped our restfulness. The pictures on VRBO didn’t do justice to the actual setting. We will return!

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and while it’s beautiful and in a great location..it will be our last. In 2020 two dead mice made the place smell terrible until I found them. This stay we saw mice running around the main level the first night, I called the property manager and they were sending someone out but day turned into afternoon then evening so I purchased some traps. We caught six mice in four nights. Every morning I was cleaning poop up. It was gross. I would have gone elsewhere but couldn’t find another place that would take a dog. The management company did give us a 10% refund but for 4,000, I shouldn’t play exterminator.

We had a wonderful vacation in Durango staying at this property. We loved the location - gorgeous views, peace and quiet, and lots of space for our teenage kids to run around with the dog. The house was comfortable and had all that we needed. I enjoyed the beautiful kitchen and bathroom. I wish we could have stayed for a month!

We had an excellent stay. The property is beautiful.

Visited Durango this past week and enjoyed our time at this cabin. It's close to town but feels like you're in the middle of the mountains. Lots of wildlife each day including elk and turkeys. Great kitchen and outdoor space. Plenty of room for family...definitely a peaceful retreat. Small fenced yard was perfect for dogs. Highly recommend!

Honestly, this is the best rental property we've ever stayed at. You're about 20 minutes north of Durango, but very close to the highway and it's easy to get to town or north to Purgatory/Silverton. The property has a full kitchen with all of the kitchen-y stuff you'd need (honestly, we were taking pictures of things in this kitchen we want to add to our own house). There's a full gas/propane dual fuel grill as well out back. The yard is perfect for your four legged friends, and the rest of the house is great for a longer-term stay (great bathrooms -- jacuzzi tub) and the laundry units in the basement. But what really sets this property apart is the responsiveness of the VRC staff. We got in pretty late, but they still checked in on us to make sure that we got in the house okay, and they were responsive via text the whole time we were there. We're definitely going to be making a return visit!

It is stocked with all the kitchen silverware, utensils, pots pans and dishes one could want. The bedrooms bathrooms and sitting areas are very well done and very clean and neat. The setting is fantastic with places for the dog and a covered outside area to suit all your needs. It is very private, quiet, and secure with a large lawn in the front and back. All of which is perfectly maintained. This is definitely a 5 star vacation home.
