Our historic home is in the lovely Elmwood Village and also on Buffalo Olmsted Parkway land. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is perfect for 1 or a group of 13/14. We offer bikes, running paths, a workout gym and a lovely front porch and back patio. We are also an eco-friendly home and use all non toxic cleaning supplies and all beds are made with organic or natural materials. No “fragrance” is ever used in our home.

We are walking distance to a lot of restaurants, shops, museums, universities, art galleries and parks. Many great walking and running paths nearby. There is plenty of free parking available.

Downtown Buffalo and Canalside are 3 miles away and Niagara Falls is about a 20-25 minute drive. We also can recommend a beautiful drive along the river to the Falls. (You will need your passport for this drive.)The Elmwood Village is a quaint area full of shops, restaurants, museums, and parks. Everything in the neighborhood is walking distance.

Our Historic Home was built in 1906 on land surrounded by landscaped circles, parkways and avenues that lead to open public parks. Soldiers Place is one of Olmsted's circles with a center median and broad parkways radiating from it. The streets surrounding Soldiers were named for Civil War Heroes: General Bidwell, Chapin and Lincoln. It is a Georgian inspired Colonial Revival style with a cross gable roof. The front porch has iconic columns supporting clapboard, and a leaded glass window. The inside has been primarily restored to its original form with all of the wood being stripped and preserved. Most the woodwork is quarter sawn oak. The restoration we did was featured on HGTV, Restore America. The house is over 100 years old and in a very historic area of Buffalo along with a Frank Lloyd Wright house across the street. Our home and all the houses in the neighborhood have a great story behind them.

Had a wonderful stay at this home. Every amenity one could want, and then some! We especially enjoyed the record collection. Theresa is a responsive helpful host, and even had great suggestions for getting to the Bill's game. We especially appreciated that the house is fragrance free as several in our party of 5 get migraines from perfumed soaps and detergents. The home and neighborhood are beautiful, with fun places to walk to. The yard is fenced, and the neighborhood is very dog friendly. We had a wonderful stay, and truly appreciate that Theresa shared her historic home.

The charm of this historic house surpassed all expectations. Add the perfect location and you have all you need for a completely walkable Buffalo experience. This house is everything the listing says it is and the host is kind and helpful.

The historic home was beautiful! Very quiet neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Easy driving distance to other area attractions and the Canadian border. Accommodations and amenities were as described and were great for our family of 13. The large living room was perfect for all of us to spend down time together. We also enjoyed the front porch and back patio. The host was very quick to respond to any questions and extremely helpful in every way. We would highly recommend this property especially for a large group!

We had a group of 12 and there was room for everyone, plus lots of areas to congregate. We could also walk to Elmwood for coffee and restaurants.

If you are looking for a large house (11 of us) and a spot close to everything, look no further. Our kids loved playing in the front yard, full of trees, sticks and plenty space to run around. Restaurants and coffee shops are near by. And Therese is just wonderful. Very attentive, laid back and always a text away. The house is very well equipped - don't think I've ever seen such a range of condiments, and the plants around the house are just dreamy.
