Stayed Nov 7, 2025The house was very clean, including the kitchen, bathrooms and bedding. The rooms were spacious and the place was just as described. Most importantly to us was that we did not have to run out and buy any non-essentials fter our arrival, which has been our recent experiences. We had plenty of toilet paper, tissues, washcloths, towels, and even extra fans in the bedrooms for those of us who sleep with fans. Blackout curtains too! There was coffee, and even several options to make our coffee. There was even an ice maker in the fridge. It's amazing some other hosts don't provide these basic essentials, so our stay here was so relaxing and stress-free! Last but not least the house and all the furnishings are beautiful.

Stayed Sep 18, 2025Historic Holmes Place was a great home base for exploring Kansas City. Five friends and I spent the weekend there and had plenty of room. For breakfast, we enjoyed eating at Succotash which is located just down the street. Kristen was quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definitely stay there again.

Stayed Aug 1, 2025This property is beautiful!! My daughter and I absolutely loved it and it worked so well for her and her Maid of Honor to stay the night before her wedding day. Then all of the Bridesmaids (and me the Mother of Bride) arrived in the early morning hours for hair and make up. Everyone had comfortable places to sit as we all got ready. My daughter and her husband spent their first night together in this house. Memories forever. Thank you to the host!

Stayed Jun 19, 2025This turned out to be a great location for us as our son is a resident physician and the hospital is near by. That said the location made it easy to downtown, union station, and country club plaza. We enjoyed a house where we could all just have time together. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!

Stayed Jun 7, 2025This old house is full of character and charm, with unique touches that reflect its history. The location is excellent—quiet yet conveniently close to everything. A major highlight was the fantastic breakfast spot just down the road (the Salmon Benedict was amazing!).Note that the house doesn’t have an oven, and the two full bathrooms upstairs are shared, though neither was a deal breaker for our family. Street parking can be tight on weekend evenings due to popular upscale restaurants nearby.Probably not the best fit for families with very young children, given the period decor, layout, and proximity to a busy street. We brought lawn chairs for a small family gathering before a wedding and had just enough space out front for a relaxed hangout and a quick game of bags.Overall, a memorable stay in a charming, well-located home!

Stayed Mar 28, 2025The house was perfect! We spent most of our time hanging out in the living room yapping. I loved that each bedroom had a fan. We’d stay here again. Great location too.

Stayed Jul 29, 2024We were in town for a baseball tournament and wanted to be centrally located for the fields. This fit the bit, however when traveling with children I prefer to feel safe over a cute spot and that was lacking here. The back alley where you park felt on the verge of criminal activity with various people lingering. Unfortunately, during our stay there as street construction happening directly in front of the house that stated in the wee hours of the morning, not ideal but we also understand out of the owners hands. The historic home is beautiful and if you enjoy staying in an off the beaten path spot, this is it.

Stayed Jun 14, 2024The historical atmosphere was charming! The house was cozy, but definitely accomodating for our family. Three generations stayed for a wedding that took place down town. The house interior was spotless! The only downfall was how hot the upstairs was (about 90 degrees outside). However there were lots of fans available for our use.
