    The place itself is in a great location. Access to the Westin facilities & centrality on the island. The condo is in good condition & met our expectations. The issue we had is with extremely loud & interruptive construction that was happening directly above our unit. This went on for 3 days, 8am to 5pm, & upended our vacation (esp due to the fact that our toddler could not nap with the banging!) There was also a strong toxic smell that permeated the unit during this time. We asked one of the workers about this, who told us it was antifreeze. We informed the owner through VRBO & requested a partial refund due to the significant interruption. Our main complaint is with her response and lack of any understanding or empathy that our quite expensive vacation was so impacted. We detailed the issue we experienced and offered to send pictures and video including noise from our unit as proof. She responded that she had spoken to other owners in the building and they said that there wasn’t a construction issue. She rudely dismissed our claim, essentially accused us of lying, and suggested that we look elsewhere in the future on HHI. She did not offer an outlet for us to provide photo or video evidence which we are able to provide through VRBO reviews, but not through the VRBO text application. The unplanned construction along with the owner’s rude and dismissive response, lacking any empathy to our situation, leads us to not recommend this unit to any potential vacationers on HHI.

    Ocean Palms is the place to stay. Close access to the beach, great biking, and walking trails. With the option to golf every day.

    Really enjoyed the property. Spacious and very clean inside. My wife liked the screen in deck where she could retreat in the morning with a cup of coffee and we both would head out to with a glass of wine after a day at the beach. Enjoyed the large walk in shower in the master bath. Only thing that I would change is the pet policy. I wish you would allow dogs. This would guarantee we would be back next year.
