Stayed Aug 15, 2025This is a great place for an extended stay in Flagstaff. We stayed for 15 days in August. The house is older, but is quite spacious and in good condition. The pictures accurately reflect the interior layout and furnishings. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was adequately equipped with the typical assortment of well-used appliances and cookware. Full sized fridge and laundry machines are very helpful for longer stays. The WiFi was good enough for my wife to effectively work remotely. The large front deck is essentially a big exterior living room including a small dining table. It's a great place to hang out in mild weather. The host clearly works to make your stay an enjoyable one, and has provided a large and helpful collection of literature and guides for the area. The location at the edge of open space enabled us to take walks in the adjacent forest. One note is that there can be traffic noise from the nearby interstate. This is only apparent outside on the deck, not inside. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Stayed Jun 20, 2025The location was great. Close to the Pepsi Amphitheater and downtown Flagstaff. Very communicative and accommodating host. Home was very clean and the property and lot were great. I didn't love the 10 am check out time but it is a great stay for the money and I would definitely come back.

Stayed May 29, 2025The property owner, Christina was readily available through email. She was meticulous with needed instructions on directions, how to enter & was readily available when we had a question. Hillside cottage was a delight! Beautiful, quiet neighborhood, out of the hustle & bustle of downtown Flag. The cottage is well equipped with just about everything a renter may need and beyond (plenty of available literature & pamphlets to the many Flagstaff sites for exploration). Fun outdoor amenities available at the Cottage if one cares to just hang out (bikes, cornhole game). It is very spacious for a 2 bedrm/ 1 bath & plenty of room for parking.Should we return to Flag, we will definitely rent Hillside Cottage again.

Stayed Oct 4, 2024What a lovely home and location...much closer to NAU than I expected which was a treat since we were there to visit my daughter who is a student there. The house is extremely well stocked and just felt like home if only for a few days.

Stayed Sep 23, 2024My husband and I stayed at the Hillside Cottage for 4 nights in mid-September 2024. It was the most relaxing and comfortable stay we have had in a VRBO property. The owners were very attentive to our needs and making sure we were comfortable at their cottage. It's in a great location close to Flagstaff but out in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Our favorite spot was out on the front porch! The cottage was supplied with everything we could possibly need for our stay. We were even given a loaf of pumpkin bread which we enjoyed each evening as dessert.....it was delicious!! We would stay at the cottage again and would highly recommend it!

Stayed Aug 25, 2024This property was better than we had anticipated. Great host communication with little notes to make us feel welcome and so we weren't confused about anything. The house was very clean and had everything we needed and then some (my daughter especially liked the record player and albums). We loved the outdoors of this house too; lots of personality - the porch with a comfortable couch, a table to have coffee and snacks at, a hummingbird feeder. The two swing chairs were so nice to sit in to read, chat or just watch the quiet neighborhood. It was a short walk to the Sinclair part of the Urban Trail System, which was a bonus for sure (two of us are runners and we all went for a walk one morning). It is close to NAU/town, just a few miles really, but it felt far away. Can't say enough good things. Would definitely come back to this place; was a very relaxing few days.

Stayed Jun 27, 2024We stayed here over a long weekend in Flagstaff. This cozy cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood close enough to downtown but away from all the tourists. We really enjoyed the breeze on the deck, and relaxed and dined there throughout our stay. The rooms are roomy and the beds are comfortable, Christina welcomed us with goodies in the kitchen and was down the street if we needed her. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Jun 11, 2024As a gift to our two aunts, we sent them on a trip to Arizona. They stayed the first two nights here. Our aunts are in their 70's and not well-travelled. They were nervous but really looking forward to a trip to the Grand Canyon. The train was late getting in on arrival night, but Christina picked them up and took them to the house. In the morning, she took them to the bus for the canyon tour and later that day to the car rental place. Our aunts said the house was very clean and in a nice location not far from where they needed to go. They thought the house was great and were extremely appreciative of Christina for getting their trip off to such a good start!

Stayed Jun 1, 2024This was our first experience with a vacation house. We've always stayed in hotels or our camper. Going into it, I had checked all the reviews and the general location, and booked although still hesitant, not really knowing what we were getting into. We can say without a doubt, all the future stays will have big shoes to fill...really big! We loved this place. It's everything the listing and reviews said. Welcoming, warm, cozy, super clean, quiet, peaceful, excellent communication with the host, all and more! We enjoyed a rest day of playing dominoes on the porch, listening to and watching birds. We also enjoyed coming 'home' from long days. To anyone looking for a place to stay in Flagstaff: If this place is available, book it! It's a calming place: not busy, not loud, a place you can unplug if you want, or go into the city, which is minutes away. A lovely respite or rest from traveling.
