This property is simply outstanding. The homes, furnishing, outdoor spaces and property are beautiful. Grateful to have stayed there
The property is nice and accommodated our family of nine. The kiddos loved the time in the pool and even with 100+° temps, the adults were able to sit around the pool comfortably, in the shade. The pavilion area is super nice, but we opted out of creek play due to the low water levels. Being from north Texas, we certainly understand the need for rain. The kids loved sleeping in the treehouse and it was certainly something we’ve never experienced! We brought our CanAm and four-wheeler which was handy for getting around the property. Communication with Huy was great, but Vrbo hadn’t sent our welcome information, so our arrival was a bit chaotic since our cellphones weren’t working and we were trying to gather information about the homes on property while unloading. There were some matainance issues, but I’ve addressed those through the property manager directly, so hopefully they’ll be rectified. All in all, we enjoyed our family time on this property.
The property is very elegant. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We spent most of our time outside. The patio was beautiful. The kids ran all around and were fascinated by the horses, goats and cats. The creek was full and made for great very lazy tubing. The creek side pavilion was very big and had comfortable chairs and couches for those who wanted out of the sun. The only downside is the inside living area was in three small rooms so if it was raining we couldn’t have all sat together. We ate on the outside patio or next to the pool and it felt like a setting out of a movie.
This is a beautiful house and beautiful location. The owner was so quick to respond to questions and very helpful with things to do around the area. This house has everything you could imagine. Will not go wrong booking this place for vacation.
Great stay overall. Some things to improve on but we enjoyed ourselves. To be fair, I like to provide a full review. Check in: directions were accurate. There is no call button on the gate - we had a few mins to reach the owners. They soon after let us in and that was fine. We arrived at the ranch house but felt it was a little odd no one was there to greet us or show us around. We just felt our way around and eventually had some questions answered via text with the owner. Eventually the ranch hand came up and gave us an overview of the grounds. VERY nice man. The main house: VERY PRETTY. Well done home. BEAUTIFUL master suite that is HUGE. Office area off the master and beautiful soaking tub and gorgeous shower. Another bedroom off the master with twin beds. This room is AWESOME. Sweet small but very ample kitchen with Dutch door looking out front to the horse pasture. Well equipped. Lots of games. Great sound system with xm. The treehouse: awesome treehouse. Very clean. Very cool. Outdoor shower with hot water, nice bathroom and queen bed. The guest houses: cute and ample but we didn’t use them. The property: well groomed. The pool was clean, the entertainment Pavillion was clean and nice. The landscaping (like all of Texas) was devastated by the recent freeze. All the beautiful cacti were dead around the pool (but I’m sure they are going to address it). Just sad to see such beautiful plants die. You could tell it was impressive. Nice waterfall by the pool and several great outdoor fireplaces to relax by. Wonderful creek that is so clear it looks like the Caribbean. Quiet place. Full of deer, turkey and birds. We had golf carts delivered to the ranch which I feel is a must. Great to get around. All in all a very slow paced and tranquil place. Beautiful enough to just BE and not feel like you have to DO all the time. Loved it. The unfortunate: a few things came up and didn’t ruin our trip but I feel fair to at least mention. The nice ice maker in the kitchen was inoperable. The freezer had a slow ice maker that we had to support by making ice with trays. The skeet machine was inoperable. We threw our skeet by hand and still had fun. The master shower had no hot water. This was a bummer. Shower didn’t work so we used the bathtub extension to stand in the tub and bathe. (Owner said they are addressing it) Conclusion: GREAT property. Lots of potential and excited to return. :)
Very tranquil and pastoral hill country escape
Beautiful property ,in a great location, would go back
This was the perfect property to unplug and relax. We will always cherish the memories we made swimming in the river, watching sunsets, viewing nature, and swimming in the pool. The treehouse is NOT to be missed!
Perfect place to get away in the hill country. Spacious, beautiful, and SO PRIVATE. Bring your tough golf cart or ATV! The property has stunning views and there are so many (shaded) outdoor areas to lounge and enjoy them while chatting with friends and family. There was always a breeze in the shade (YES, in July in Texas!) and we even needed a light blanket a few nights while gazing at the stars. The outdoor kitchens were so convenient and well-appointed that we'll plan to cook more meals outside next time we come. If you want to use the oven, ask if it is working before you plan your menu. It wasn't working in the main house and nearly half of our meals were intended to go in the oven, so that was inconvenient. Thankfully, there was a mini oven up the hill at the guest house. We were able to cook most of our indoor meals over there and then carry them back to the main house for dining. The inside of the main house is large, but not an open layout, so plan to spend lots of time chatting and eating outside (and isn't that what you want to do anyways?). The mattresses were excellent and the bed linens and towels were plentiful and soft. Loved not having to bring our own. The internet on the property was great, especially for being in the middle of nowhere. We had to check-in a couple of times for work and the kids may have spent a few nights streaming Netflix and Youtube while the adults stayed up too late staring at the stars, so we were grateful for the high speed internet! Beautiful home and a wonderful vacation. Thank you for having us!
We hesitated writing another review in such close proximity to our last but we just can't say enough about this property. July 4th weekend was even better than Memorial Day! And, that is saying a ton! Prior to arrival, we had to talk with Huw and Jennifer regarding our golf cart delivery and pick up. As usual, prompt responses by the owners, no surprise. When we arrived we felt the house was even cleaner than the last time! It sparkled. The foreman is exceptional from having country music playing on arrival, to always having the trash disappear. The bed and linens were top notch and hard to leave every morning but great to fall into each night. We utilized the pool more this stay and found it so relaxing with the luxurious outdoor furniture, fireplace (even in Texas, summer fires are part of the fun!) and the wonderful outdoor grill. The pavilion by the river is an understated gem in the pictures! We had fun spending time floating the river and using the large covered patio to relax. Fishing was excellent this trip! Lots of bass and perch for the kids to catch & release. We also went back to Comfort Pizza (more than once) and rang in my nieces 4th of July birthday over the best pizzas, EVER! Finally, after getting home we realized that we may have left a bag of asthma medicine. Concierge service, always, Huw & Jennifer had the foreman look the house over for the nebulizer and meds. They actually went above and beyond, texting a picture of the bag. Five Star Service, always! It was another great trip to Comfort. Rest assured, we will be back...sooner than later!
