Hike & Ski! Family-Friendly Lake Mitchell Oasis

My family had a great time staying warm by the fireplace and looking out at the beautiful frozen lake for a long weekend. Great location as we were able to visit Traverse City one day and ski at Caberfe Peaks the next. Beds were comfortable and we had all we needed to cook and relax. Thank you!

We were impressed that it was so fully stocked with anything we would need. The only negative was the one night of the blizzard we were without heat for several hours and it got down to 55. That was not on the host, it was just a bad night for us. Other than that it was a terrific property!

My husband and I enjoyed the house on beautiful Lake Mitchell. The home was warm and inviting. We took day trips around the upper counties for the Fall Colors. Our house was spotless and our contact Stephanie had direct contact with us.

I'd really give this a 4 and half is able. The location is great, house is nice and well stocked, and the manager was very easy to communicate with. It only gets a little knock for some outdated/ end of life outdoor furniture and dock, and some misses by the cleaning crew. Having to clean a toilet upon arrival, crumbs off the counter, and hair out of the tub is disappointing when you get charged so much for cleaning with these spots. The manager was apologetic and isn't the end of the world, but I can't in good conscious give it a perfect rating otherwise.

We came to Lake Mitchell in Cadillac for a week-long family vacation with our teenagers and twenty-somethings, and had an incredible experience. The property was clean, quiet, and the views were absolutely stunning. Waking up each morning and looking out through all of those windows is something we’ll never forget.The beds were very comfortable, and the entire interior was spotless. The home had everything we could possibly need—tons of spices for cooking, every pot and pan imaginable, a large refrigerator and freezer, and plenty of counter space for preparing meals together. There were more than enough towels provided, along with thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable.If we had one small wish, it would be for the patio furniture to be a bit more updated—but that’s truly a minor note compared to everything else the property offered.The homeowner was very kind and accommodating, which we greatly appreciated. Cadillac itself is a fun town to walk around, and we especially recommend checking out The Chunky Bear Coffee Shop (fabulous!) and the local pickleball courts, where you can play while enjoying views of the water.All in all, this was a wonderful stay that gave our family both relaxation and adventure. We are very grateful and highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable vacation spot. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

We had our entire family with 2 grand loves. The lake is wonderfully shallow for little ones. The home was extremely well stocked and lovely as can be.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at this beautiful lake house. I have been vacationing with my family in Cadillac my entire life and I’ve never stayed in a house so welcoming, comfortable and well appointed as this one. We found everything we needed to enjoy our stay from lifejackets to sandwich bags with ease. There were also plenty of indoor and outdoor games to play and enjoy with the family that were fun for all ages. Ultimately though our favorite thing about the house was the lake access. The dock was so convenient and the water was so shallow our small children could safely swim and play in the water all day. The kayaks were also a huge hit. Again the house was just so cool, all modern appliances that worked perfectly, a great grill on the awesome deck where we spent every morning having our coffee and watching the sunrise over the water. Even the neighbors were nice and inviting to us. We would love to be back! Thank you so so much for a lovely stay and unforgettable family vacation.

Everything was amazing and better than the pictures. Anything you need was there. Beach towels, garbage bags, dryer sheets, toilet paper and paper towels. Seasonings of every kind. Coffee supplies.

Everything about the house and property was excellent! It was immaculately clean, stocked with everything we needed and more! We enjoying using the dock for our fishing boat, the small kayaks, awesome deck furniture and umbrellas, gas grill, stocked kitchen, plenty of seating and ample bedding. Truly a gem of a rental! Enjoyed a good week in August. The house is well equipped with comfortable sleeping for four. We had six adults and the mattresses in the bunk room are so very worn out - can’t believe they would even work well for young children. We grew up in Michigan and return each summer. This is the most beautiful setting and would love to come back here but won’t because of the lack of comfortable sleeping.

Loved our stay on Lake Mitchell! Kitchen well stocked, house was clean, nice dock. Would stay again.

We used this home for a weekend getaway to beautiful Cadillac. The pictures of the home match exactly what is in real life, although the actual sunrise can’t be beat! The home was clean and had many immunities we used! We will be back!
