Newport, Rhode Island
Take a step back to the 1700s in this quintessential colonial home where Alexander Hamilton’s itinerary showed he spent the night. It’s an historic home in the heart of history, dating to the Revolutionary War. Located on Upper Thames Street - in The Point - one of the most desirable areas in Newport - this house includes a large, private garden with an outdoor dining table and outdoor seating area, grill, 3 large decorative fireplaces, 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 private parking spots!
Great historic house. Plenty of beds to accomodate our family. Awesome neighborhood -- plenty to do and see -- very walkable. Responsive owners. Would stay there again.
Lauren De Gregory’s House at 36 Thames Street is part of the oldest historic and charming area of Newport. Streets are tight and narrow with small green parks and cosy squares... at the back of the house we often spend evenings in the beautiful garden with large trees that shaded for the sun. Kitchen and living areas are in close proximity to the garden and terrace. We were 8 people staying in the house and there was no logistical issues , as the three bathrooms were distributed on each floor . A cosy kitchen , dining room and living room furnished in a coherent historic style made it a space we all enjoyed. Our host was very helpful to our questions and sorted out issues swiftly . We can certainly recommend the house for future guests . Kind regards Morten Schmidt
