Stayed Nov 21, 2025Heather was an excellent host. The house is super beautiful and comfortable, the kitchen is very well stocked with anything you might need to cook a meal. Definitely take a peek at all the house materials she sends you - the instructions to get to the house are very useful, and her recommendations for local restaurants and activities are really great! We also loved that the house is so close to a magnificent trailhead!

Stayed Sep 19, 2025Lovely hilltop retreat! Enjoyed our stay that was ultra convenient to Healdsburg Town Square. As stated in property description the four flights of stairs from road to the house are not for those with any mobility issues.

Stayed Jul 8, 2025I don't want to say how awesome this place is for fear that it will be fully booked the next time we want to stay there, but oh well, it is a great cabin in a fabulous location, with amazing views, outfitted with everything you need for cooking in, with great hikes and the Russian River nearby, and a host who provide great insights into nearby activities that we fully took advantage of. Yes you have to climb some stairs but the payoff of spectacular sense of solitude and amazing view is well worth it.

Stayed Jun 6, 2025This Hilltop Retreat has so many wonderful attributes. The home’s interior is graciously accomodating-we were 5 grown-ups-and we were very comfortable. The deck attached to the kitchen is very comfortable and it has great views of the Sonoma hills. The kitchen has every piece of equipment necessary to cook a full meal for a family. If you drive or rent a Full-size SUV, as we did, (A Jeep Waggoneer) you will have to park it very carefully in the space across the street to allow for emergency vehicle access. It is truly a hilltop home- there are 53 steps from the street to the front door.We were fortunate to stay here-it was as close as we could get to our planned activities (without camping in a vineyard). The owner was very helpful and responsive to all our communtications.

Stayed Apr 24, 2025This was our 3rd time staying here. We really enjoy the covered deck overlooking the Russian River. The house is well stocked for cooking with most everything you’d need in the kitchen. We will be back!

Stayed Nov 1, 2024Loved the house and the views. Listing about all the steps very accurate. Driving the very narrow mountain road requires skill. Parking anything but simple. The house parking spot barely accommodated a Camry Toyota. At that we couldn’t open the trunk fully. Only a compact car would be appropriate. That said we all enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Oct 24, 2024We LOVED our stay! The home is so well done, thoughtful craftsman touches, well appointed and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the porch, coffee in the morning watching the day start. Heather's communication prior to arrival was so detailed and appreciated. Proximity to town was also terrific and the neighborhood quiet. Definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed Oct 17, 2024This was such a great experience. The outdoor space was one of our favorites and we definitely put it to great use. The beds were very comfortable which my husband who ran the Sonoma Lake 55k very much appreciated.

Stayed Jul 18, 2024We loved our stay and would definitely stay again when in Healdsberg area. Just enough outside of town to enjoy the quiet country side yet close enough to not be troublesome. The house is clean, well provisioned with comfortable beds and a stunning view from the covered deck which made our morning cup of coffee super serene. As noted the place is a bit of a challenge to find however once found don't let the stairs (53 of them) concern you - great exercise every day! Speaking of exercise the house is very near the end of the mountain road that then turns into a fantasic hiking path along a ridge down to the other side of the mountain. We saw deer on a couple of occasions while on our walks - very cool.

Stayed Jul 11, 2024The cottage was cute, very clean, and extremely well-stocked with everything you would be likely to need. The listing described the many stairs to be climbed to enter the cottage, so we weren’t surprised. If you come in the summer, it’s important to know that the air conditioning unit only cools the lower level. The upper level got very hot. Also, there is only room to park one car. Our party had two cars, so the second one had to be parked at a bend in the (very narrow) road. It wasn’t a problem for us, but some people might not enjoy that.

Stayed Jun 2, 2024One of the best vacation homes I have rented. Tucked away in the nature on Fitch mountain, while still being close to the town of Healdsburg. We had a wonderful time.
