Enjoy extraordinary views and re-connect with what matters in this secluded, completely remodeled cabin with custom craftsmanship and creatively repurposed materials in every room. The setting is private with nearly 200 acres of unspoiled woods out the back door - yet we're just seven minutes from Healdsburg square with great shopping, a wealth of tasting rooms and restaurants to please every palate. Wine tasting along Russian River's still-small and beautiful wine road is close and convenient.

Climb the steps to a tranquil getaway with exquisite views, and you'll not want to leave. Our most consistent feedback is that this 'tree house' feels like a world away from it all with its own little peaceful gravity well.

This is not a house for partying or for folks who cannot handle stairs.

From April through August, enjoy walkable Russian River access down the street for kayaking, tubing, or lounging on the beach. Year-round, there are hiking trails to choose from just outside the front or back door, as well as biking and paddle-boarding on the river. Within a short drive are some of the area's most beautiful trails and rides.

We have hand-crafted hardwood floors and tile throughout with well-placed windows for a very open feel, that never-the-less maintains total privacy. Enjoy the outdoor patio while taking in the views, napping, reading or sipping wine. Or venture out back to take in 180 degree views from above the trees, BBQ under the open sky, recount the days' events, or just play horseshoes.

For all the charm & craft, you'll find that the layout makes sense. In the master suite is a Cal king bed, 'en suite' full bath and private patio. Upstairs in the guest bedroom are two extra long twins looking out into the forest, with a separate full bathroom on this main level. We also have two more regular twins available on the covered porch, as well as a convertible twin/full sofabed in the entry den. The kitchen opens onto the porch, looks out beyond the trees and is connected with the main living room.

We strive to keep the house tastefully appointed and amply stocked with all that you'll need for a comfortable & relaxing stay - from toiletries & hair dryers to a cook's kitchen, 'smart' TV & WiFi, and plenty of games for the playing.

Heather was an excellent host. The house is super beautiful and comfortable, the kitchen is very well stocked with anything you might need to cook a meal. Definitely take a peek at all the house materials she sends you - the instructions to get to the house are very useful, and her recommendations for local restaurants and activities are really great! We also loved that the house is so close to a magnificent trailhead!

Lovely hilltop retreat! Enjoyed our stay that was ultra convenient to Healdsburg Town Square. As stated in property description the four flights of stairs from road to the house are not for those with any mobility issues.

I don't want to say how awesome this place is for fear that it will be fully booked the next time we want to stay there, but oh well, it is a great cabin in a fabulous location, with amazing views, outfitted with everything you need for cooking in, with great hikes and the Russian River nearby, and a host who provide great insights into nearby activities that we fully took advantage of. Yes you have to climb some stairs but the payoff of spectacular sense of solitude and amazing view is well worth it.

This Hilltop Retreat has so many wonderful attributes. The home’s interior is graciously accomodating-we were 5 grown-ups-and we were very comfortable. The deck attached to the kitchen is very comfortable and it has great views of the Sonoma hills. The kitchen has every piece of equipment necessary to cook a full meal for a family. If you drive or rent a Full-size SUV, as we did, (A Jeep Waggoneer) you will have to park it very carefully in the space across the street to allow for emergency vehicle access. It is truly a hilltop home- there are 53 steps from the street to the front door.We were fortunate to stay here-it was as close as we could get to our planned activities (without camping in a vineyard). The owner was very helpful and responsive to all our communtications.

This was our 3rd time staying here. We really enjoy the covered deck overlooking the Russian River. The house is well stocked for cooking with most everything you’d need in the kitchen. We will be back!

Loved the house and the views. Listing about all the steps very accurate. Driving the very narrow mountain road requires skill. Parking anything but simple. The house parking spot barely accommodated a Camry Toyota. At that we couldn’t open the trunk fully. Only a compact car would be appropriate. That said we all enjoyed our stay.

We LOVED our stay! The home is so well done, thoughtful craftsman touches, well appointed and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the porch, coffee in the morning watching the day start. Heather's communication prior to arrival was so detailed and appreciated. Proximity to town was also terrific and the neighborhood quiet. Definitely recommend staying here.

This was such a great experience. The outdoor space was one of our favorites and we definitely put it to great use. The beds were very comfortable which my husband who ran the Sonoma Lake 55k very much appreciated.

We loved our stay and would definitely stay again when in Healdsberg area. Just enough outside of town to enjoy the quiet country side yet close enough to not be troublesome. The house is clean, well provisioned with comfortable beds and a stunning view from the covered deck which made our morning cup of coffee super serene. As noted the place is a bit of a challenge to find however once found don't let the stairs (53 of them) concern you - great exercise every day! Speaking of exercise the house is very near the end of the mountain road that then turns into a fantasic hiking path along a ridge down to the other side of the mountain. We saw deer on a couple of occasions while on our walks - very cool.

The cottage was cute, very clean, and extremely well-stocked with everything you would be likely to need. The listing described the many stairs to be climbed to enter the cottage, so we weren’t surprised. If you come in the summer, it’s important to know that the air conditioning unit only cools the lower level. The upper level got very hot. Also, there is only room to park one car. Our party had two cars, so the second one had to be parked at a bend in the (very narrow) road. It wasn’t a problem for us, but some people might not enjoy that.

One of the best vacation homes I have rented. Tucked away in the nature on Fitch mountain, while still being close to the town of Healdsburg. We had a wonderful time.
