Yosemite National Park, California
There are 89 steps to the front door of the house with private access to an old Native American Hiking trail behind the property. Relax on the porch and enjoy the sun's orange display as it sets in the West. Open the back door and breathe in the fresh air from the forest out back. This home has an electric fire place, no mess! This home also offers a washer/dryer for longer stays. Due to this properties location nestled in the pines, there is no T.V. reception, but is equipped with a DVD, and loads of movies. These tall Pines keep our guests cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There are 2 bedrooms, with a queen bed in each, and a bunk bed in the 3rd bedroom. There is 2 parking spots over summer months, 1 over winter months. There are 89 steps to the front door of the house.
Upon arrival key pad was not inputted with my phone number code so needed to contact property manager. It was 9pm & no cell service so it was difficult & frustrating. After getting cell reception down the street the Property manager did show up quickly to let us in.
Property is great and clean. But the climb, especially with luggage and lugging a toddler is tiring. Would have preferred more lights in the house, as well as better ok instructions on which switch is for what. Oh, the property doesn't come with shampoo? Bummer. But those are not too big of a deal breaker. Great place to stay in Yosemite
89 steps and no a/c along with a pretty treacherous drive to the location seemed a bit daunting, but we were able to lug all our stuff (family of 5) up the steps in the dark without too much difficulty. We stayed at the end of July and there was no issue with the lack of a/c. The drive was beautiful and a bit scary but we made it back and forth to the valley and other Yosemite locations without incident. Being so close to the valley (approximately a 25 minute drive) a very busy time of year trumped any other issues.
We’ve never been to Yosemite before. At first my husband had us staying in Half Dome Village because we wanted to be in the park and close to everything. When a storm came through and damaged the cabin they cancelled our reservation. I found this cabin on VRBO and feel so blessed!! First, the cabin is really close to the valley. If you’ve never been before understand that 15 miles = 30 min because of the winding mountain roads! Speed limit is about 35. This cabin location had us in the heart of the valley in about 15-20 min!! A HUGE PLUS!!! Second, the stairs are no joke! ? we are a family of 5 and lugging the suitcases to the top... we stopped about 1/2 way to catch our breath. Bringing everything down was a piece of cake but the first trip up was a workout. Third, we are a family of 5 with kids 19, 17 & 12. The kids LOVED the location and the cabin!! There is no AC but they had plenty of fans for the 3 bedrooms and everyone slept very comfortably!! Last, thank God there is no WiFi or LTE!! It forced my workaholic husband and device addicted kids to unplug and look at our beautiful country! We’ve not spent this much time talking and laughing and just being together since they started high school/college! If you have any doubts put them aside. Every step is worth it! It’s a lovely cabin with plenty of space and very modern amenities! We will definitely stay here again!
Nice home with a beautiful view. We viewed the gorgeous sunsets perfectly right from the kitchen table. The kitchen had basic items typical of a vacation rental (plenty of serving pieces, but knives were very dull.) The living room furniture was lacking a little for our family of 5. We could've used 1 additional chair or a larger sofa. There are A LOT of steps, which the owner made known. However, some of them seemed a little rickety. All in all it was a nice and convenient place to stay during our Yosemite vacation.
The house was perfect for our family of six. The two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs we’re perfect for our teenage children. All the beds were comfortable. The house was more spacious than it looked in the photos. The kitchen was well stocked. The stairs were not that big of a deal since they are not steep. The sunset view from the house is spectacular. The house is about a 40 minute drive to the valley where the shops and restaurants are so it takes a little planning. I would definitely stay here again.
The place was very nice and clean, no wifi which was nice, kept people off their phones. The only downside is the 83 steps to the door but as long as you bring everything you need from your car you'll be fine
Aside from the 80+ steps of stairs and the lack of WiFi, this vacation rental is clean, neat, spacious, and came with plenty of useful bathroom and kitchen amenities. There is a neat trail behind the house, and coordinating the key delivery/drop-off was a piece of cake.
The house was surrounded by beauty. It was very clean, warm, and inviting. We had a fantastic time getting away from city life. One should note - there truly are a lot of stairs! Would definitely stay here again!
