The Space:

This elegant, one-of-a-kind Hawaiian estate within the exclusive gated community of Keauhou Estates features its own private natural-style saltwater pool and relax in a warm spa tub with gentle water flow. Our saltwater pool has a natural Hawaiian finish designed to blend with the landscape, giving it a lagoon-style appearance rather than the bright blue look of traditional pools. You may notice natural color variation and mineral staining in the plaster, which is normal and not algae or dirt. The pool is professionally cleaned and serviced regularly and the water quality is excellent. Maximum occupancy strictly enforced in accordance with local ordinances.



Enjoy nightly picture-perfect sunsets over the Pacific Ocean from the home’s spacious and secluded lanai, surrounded by a luscious garden. With 5 bedrooms and 5 ½ bathrooms, this home boasts ample space to comfortably host your large group. From its ideal location, you can access all kinds of Hawaiian adventures, or simply relax and recharge at your own poolside retreat with a plethora of options for seating and lounging.



Inside the home, you'll find plenty of spaces to unwind. The open floorplan seamlessly combines the indoor/outdoor living that Hawaii is known for . Just off the lanai is the home’s great room, inclusive of plush sofa seating, should you find yourself with some downtime in the evenings after exploring the local area. A modern, spacious kitchen with a separate dining area includes stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, toaster, and toaster oven – fully-equipped whether you choose to cook or enjoy a catered meal. An outside patio adjoining the kitchen area features a Weber gas BBQ grill.



Challenge each other to an exciting game of foosball or work up a sweat at the ping pong table (both located in the third garage). A dip in the pool is the perfect way to cap off every exciting day you’re about to have at Hale Nene. Please come and enjoy our treasured home! Mahalo.



This home sleeps up to 10 guests between 5 private bedrooms. Home is equipped with multiple Pack N Play’s for guests.



Bedroom #1 (Primary Suite) includes a king size bed, smart TV, and ensuite bathroom with 2 separate vanities, walk-in shower, and a soaking tub, and walk-in closet space. Sliding glass doors open onto the private lanai.



Bedroom #2 (Secondary Suite) includes a king size bed, smart TV, and ensuite bathroom with vanity and shower/tub combo. The bedroom hallway also offers access to the patio.



Bedroom #3 (Coral Room) includes a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with vanity and shower/tub combo, and a walk-in closet.



Bedroom #4 (Guest Room) includes 2 beds in bunk format (twin above and queen below, and an optional twin trundle bed, and ensuite bathroom with vanity and walk-in shower. Sliding doors open onto a patio.



Bedroom #5 (Office Room) includes a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with vanity and shower/tub combo. This room features a large desk, which is ideal for conference calls and business meetings.



THINGS TO NOTE:

- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the property, on the premises, and in any nearby common areas. Violations will result in an automatic $500 fine, plus any additional costs for carpet and upholstery cleaning or other damages caused.

-The air conditioning system is programmed to maintain a minimum temperature of 75°F.

- Washer and dryer in home.

- Guests must show ID and go through the estate security check point.

- Driveway and garage parking available for up to 4 vehicles.

- We provide 2 beach chairs and 1 cooler for guest use. Beach towels are available for guests.

- Snorkeling gear, watersports gear, and boogie boards available for guest use.

- Additional half bathroom is accessible from the pool area.

-The pool was beautifully updated a few years ago and features a unique green finish that blends perfectly with the lush tropical surroundings. Please note that the pool is not ADA compliant; however, it does feature stairs for easy entry and exit.

-The unit features a spa tub with a gentle water flow — not heavy jets — providing a relaxing warm soak experience.

- The hot water may take time to circulate throughout the home. The home currently has a Rinnai ru98 super high efficiency condensing tankless water heater designed to provide a continuous supply of hot water for large homes. This unit is capable of delivering up to 9.8 gallons per minute, which is typically enough to support up to four fixtures simultaneously.



Hale Nene's location is central yet private: a 5-minute drive to the famous Magic Sands Beach and Kahaluu Beach Park to snorkel with sea turtles. Just down the hill is the charming downtown Kona boardwalk lined with island surf shops, clothing boutiques, and eateries. And it is less than 20 minutes to the Kona Harbor, a jumping-off point for virtually any ocean adventure. The house is 25 minutes from the airport.



When in Hawaii, you must of course make the most of the many beaches, hikes, and water activities available. Make sure you also dive into the unique culture of Kona, where coffee shops source beans straight from Kona coffee farms, Big Wave Golden Ale is brewed fresh at the Kona Brewpub, and local farmers markets are teeming with artisan goods and just-harvested produce.

    Nice enough house BUT :Internet was almost non existent ..:( Always seeing “poor connection” on my phone ..Complicated TV system linked into internet.No guard rails on steps into swimming pool - very hard for adults with bad knees to get in and out .. big safety issue !! ??? Spa did not work ..only cold water …neighborhood quiet time issues I wish I had known about when signing up for house with 4 kids 8 y o and under .. did not pay much attention to rules - left the patient neighbor a thank you note for his understanding..was told a neighbor had PTSD which I later found out was not true ..no paper products in kitchen : napkins nonexistent ..bathroom TP was very poor quality ..we were told only one towel set and one set of bed sheets could be left for laundry ??!!! Also told to throw away any leftover food items - no way !! Beer, wine, milk, condiments, ice cream , meat etc .. would not throw them away !!! Hopefully the cleaning crew received them ! Not satisfied with house for the money paid .. have a history with VRBO and have never had so many ridiculous rules ! Have already signed up for a house on Kauai for next year .. thank you …

    10/10 - our family LOVED this property. The pictures really don't do it justice. It comfortably fit 5 adult couples and two babies. The master bedroom is on one side of the house and the other four bedrooms are in a long hallway on the other side of the house. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom. A few of the mattresses were not the most comfortable, but we made do. Since we were all family, we used the master bathroom to bath the littles since we only had showers/smaller bathrooms. The view from the property is amazing - the sunsets are perfect! The pool was great and serviced once while we were there. There were lots of chairs and a wagon for the beach. Plenty of pans/kitchenware to cook at home. The community is gated and they do ask for ID for everyone above 18 so don’t try to fit more than you can in the house (you wouldn’t want to either!). The AC is a little finicky and you must have the windows and doors closed for it to work so you can’t enjoy the large door between the living room and pool area but that was ok - the AC was preferred. Again, we loved this property and the location south of Kona. We would definitely stay here again!

    I booked this property months in advance only to have Grand Welcome tell me the property was unavailable for two days at the end of our booking. I had previously called to confirm dates and my family booked travel from 3 different countries to get to Hawaii. When I was told the property was unavailable, Grand Welcome recommended changing our travel plans. I could never get ahold of anyone when I called, or get reliable answers. I would steer clear of this property as long as it is managed by Grand Welcome. You can see the other bad reviews online, which I wish I would have read before booking.

    A Family trip to Kona planned a year ago went beautifully! 10 of us flew from California and ended up at this amazing home! We were all so pleased, especially the kiddos as they were in the pool from 8am to 8pm with so many pool toys to keep them occupied!! All the rooms were perfect, the kitchen was made for a large group and was equipped with all you needed. But the best was the doors to the back with the view and pool. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely! Thank you, Kona and to this beautiful home that made our yearly family trip a grand treat!

    I really loved my stay at this property. The house is super spacious, making it perfect for a family reunion. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, which was ideal for everyone. Our favorite is the beautiful and perfectly situated pool overlooking the ocean. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking supplies. I would definitely rent here again!

    Stunning home, well-appointed, great view! The only problem we had was figuring on how to turn the hot tub on since the controls were in a weird place.
