Stayed Aug 2, 2025The location is A, but this older property desperately needs a lot more TLC on the things you can control in order to make it a more comfortable experience. I love an older Puako home that retains the area history, but termite damage, cleanliness, internal cobwebs, broken slider doors, broken window louvers, and outdated kitchen cookware, plates, bowls, glasses, etc, need major upgrades. We sincerely appreciated staying there, but definitely wouldn’t pay to stay there again.

Stayed Apr 26, 2022The owners have provided guests with a very well equipped property which is wonderfully well located and has excellent support from property manager. The property could use a few improvements for security purposes (difficult to secure one of the sliding glass doors), and cosmetics (oil the cabinets) but otherwise it is a great representative of old Hawaii. We would definitely request to stay their again.

Stayed Apr 12, 2022The house is neat, clean, and we were welcomed with snacks, lights on, and Hawaiian music when we arrived after dark. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed and did not seem outdated as someone had previously stated. We totally enjoyed our visit. We loved getting up in the morning and seeing turtles out on the lava rocks during low tide. It's quiet and peaceful here. There are boogie boards, fishing rods and beach chairs to use. This place is on the smaller size, but you are on the deck or out at the beach so much you dont really notice it.

Stayed Oct 15, 2021The bungalow is low-key and unpretentious- but is VERY, VERY comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped - and the house has more than enough quality linens and towels. The WiFi and cable work well. BUT - who wants to spend any time inside? We explored the tide pools and snorkeled with reef fish and juvenile sea turtles. We always came back to the house (we went horseback riding and did a couple of scuba dives) for the sunset. The property managers are very responsive. The only bad thing was that we should have booked 2 weeks.

Stayed Oct 1, 2021My wife & I have been fortunate to visit the islands on a number of occasions but we've never experienced anything like the stay we just had at this property. Our trip was to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary so we were looking for something fun & unique. This is the closest we will ever get (or want to get) to feeling like Robinson Crusoe lost in a oceanside jungle paradise. The area is extremely quiet/private feeling and is teeming with life both on the shore & in the ocean. Is the actual property a bit older and worn down? Yes....you have to adjust expectations accordingly & not expect the most modern fixtures. The newer king bed in the oceanside bedroom was extremely comfortable & we both got lots of rest. We found ourselves reluctant to leave the property during our stay & spent most of our time at the beach side table or on the large deck....and we both loved our time there. Already looking forward to getting back some day!!!
