Stayed Dec 22, 2025Everything was great! The bed linens/blankets were very adequate as were the kitchen supplies. The only for me was the driveway. At first, it was quite the pain to enter and exit; however, it got easier with time. If I stayed more than a week, I believed I could master it.

Stayed Aug 1, 2025This house could be an excellent fit for many groups, but it was not for us. We picked this house because we are a group of two families. Our friends stayed upstairs and everything seemed fine. Our family slept in the basement. Pros: The communication with the property manager was excellent. The upstairs of the house has been redone and is very eclectic and fun. Cons: The layout of the basement was very tricky. From the basement living room, you must walk through the room with twin beds and through the hallway with bunkbeds to get to the room with the queen. Because the house is old there are lots of creeks and the doors are quite loud. So we ended up waking up our children in these two rooms in order to get to our bed. Then I woke everyone up again when I needed to use the restroom in the night. The other con was the large amount of spiders. The welcome book said we may see a spider or two. That was an understatement. We walked into cobwebs just walking into the basement rooms when we first arrived. There was a spider crawling across the queen bed. I sat on the couch in the sunroom and my calf was covered with cobwebs from touching the front part of the couch. Between the issues with the house and the bad weather, we left our trip a day early. When we got home and unpacked, we found two spiders crawling inside two separate pieces of our luggage! If you only need the upstairs or if you don't mind spiders, this is a lovely house with an amazing view.

Stayed Jun 29, 2025Great house for a multigenerational family trip. Despite the house having a charming “ rustic mountain” vibe the WiFi was strong and there are a few smart TVs throughout. With both an upstairs and downstairs living area, there was plenty of space for us to spread out. There are lots of games and books to enjoy as well. The lake views were breathtaking! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes & cookware. As there is not dishwasher, we used mostly paper plates and plastic silverware to avoid handwashing everything. There was a big ant infestation in the kitchen when we arrived, but the rental company was easy to contact and got the pest control company out quickly. Our dogs appreciated the fenced in yard space. The upstairs bathroom is beautifully renovated, as is the 2nd kitchen downstairs. The layout of the downstairs bedrooms is good for parents & children, but may not be great for friends, etc sharing the space as you have to walk through some bedrooms to get to the others and to the bathroom. The dock is nearby the house and perfect for swimming or fishing. It would be nice to have chairs or a seating option down there though. In true mountain style, the steps behind the house to get down to the lake are made out of stone and are are steep. Although we had no issues and appreciated their craftsmanship, they may not be ideal for those with mobility issues. The stairs inside the house to get to the bottom floor are also steep and narrow.

Stayed Jun 22, 2023I rented 2 houses to hold my husband's memorial service. Had arranged a catered lunch at Red Baron. Had to shuttle from the strip mall on 176 to the house. No way to turn around, so had to keep backing up the steep driveway. Not suitable for elderly guests. I would not rent this house again.

Stayed Jun 14, 2023The house was perfect for our 2 families! 2 separate living spaces with plenty of room. Beds were super comfortable and great views of the lake out the windows. It was close to the Tryon downtown area with little boutiques and dining.I would definitely rent this home again!

Stayed Dec 22, 2022We loved this property! As someone who grew up on this lake, it was a wonderful place to be during the holidays. The view of the lake from the upper living room was so pretty and peaceful, both day and night. The house was clean and spacious. Having the fenced in yard was great for our dog and the living room on the lower level was wonderful for movie night. While the driveway takes some getting used to, we will definitely rent this property again. Also, when we arrived, the light above the dining table was not functioning, we called Yonder and they came the next day to fix, very responsive. I grew up on Butter Street, am familiar with this property and am so happy to see the loving way this house is being cared for and enjoyed.

Stayed Oct 7, 2022Perfect house for our family group: family of 5 with 3 small children downstairs, two couples upstairs. Kids fished from the dock and swam (water too cold for most adults in our group). Beautiful lake views. Leaves beginning to change in early October. Easy access to restaurants, hiking, apple picking and other attractions. Wonderful cycling around the lake and elsewhere. We would like to rent this house again.
