Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)

In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.

In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two to two and a half hours drive as the “Pass” is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.

Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We can’t do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being “unplugged” and to be patient.

We had a great stay! It is a beautiful and peaceful location with great proximity to all we wanted to access. We were able to easily get to town and to the mountain for skiing. The cabin was very clean and cozy with lots of fun family games. The playroom and reading nook were an added bonus. The cabin was well stocked and met all of our needs. Thank you for thinking of all we could possibly need. The special touches and personalization when we arrived immediately made us feel at home. We are excited for when we can come back again!!!

We had the best few days at this cabin in the woods. We were welcomed with a goody basket with snacks and local products. It was very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the cozy living room with a big smart tv to watch the first round of March Madness. Our 3 boys and us had the best time sledding on the property and down the road, there was no one else around. Our dog loved coming with us! The loft in the kids room with awesome toys is a great bonus. We didn’t want to leave! Definitely make sure you have 4-wheel drive, we had no problems getting up the snowy road in our Suburban. Hope we can come back someday!

We rented this cabin for a long weekend. We live in Livingston and wanted so R&R and some skiing. The cabin was very comfortable for the three of us and our pups. It was well stocked and we preferred the location tucked up in the trees in the Grizzley Peak cabin neighborhood.Communication with the property manager was awesome! He responded quickly to all my questions. We also had weather the day we were supposed to check in and he was very kind and accommodating to the circumstances.Check out process and things needing to be done before we left were easy and reasonable. They had an large outdoor kennel which would be great in warmer weather to the dogs. We brought folding kennels but they also had one available and a small pen if a person forgot to bring a kennel for pup.The road to the cabin was plowed the day before and we made it up with the additional snow since plowing, but had a Subaru with winter/stud tires. Defiantly need a reliable snow car to get to property with as much snow as Red Lodge has had this year.

TLDR version: book this cabin. Immediately. It got 5 stars because 6 wasn't an optionLong form: my family (me, my wife, 8 year old son, & 2 Goldens) just spent a week at this cabin. It was a positively magical experience & easily the best VRBO rental we have ever visited. The cabin: it was simply perfect. Wonderfully updated, very well stocked, good layout (your kids will LOVE the loft area), additionally, the whole place just felt warm, happy, & inviting. It is very evident that this is not just an investment rental; this is a cabin that the owners truly love & have chosen to share it with others. The location: again: perfect. Close to town, close to the ski area, yet very private & quiet. We spent most afternoons simply sitting on the deck, watching it snow, & being thankful to be there.Booking: once again: perfect (noticing a pattern?). Aja was positively delightful to work with. Excellent communication & easy to deal with.

Lovely place to stay. Very cozy and warmly decorated. All the items we needed to enjoy our Christmas. Great beds, open kitchen/living room area where we were all together. Internet service was good and we were able to stream Christmas movies the whole time. Very private location but yet super close to town. Highly recommend!

Pictures don’t do it justice. The cabin was set up great for our family. Very kid friendly. Kitchen and living room are set up great (open concept). Cabin is well stocked both inside and out. Location is very private but with quick access to town and hiking trails. Overall very pleased with our stay.

This property is an excellent place to stay in red lodge! The house is clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything you need for an easy and relaxing stay. We were left a basket of breakfast goodies and coffee, which was such a nice touch. The home was nicely decorated for Christmas and felt safe and cozy. We appreciated the professionalism of the host and will be returning for another visit! Highly recommend.
