How do I begin this review is the question. My husband and two adult sons loved the house. Their favorite features were the rock shower and the arcade room, definitely a 5 star for the arcade room! My beagle LOVED the outdoors!! Every morning she sniffed all the wild life that had come on the property leaving their scents behind. As for me? I found the property a bit spooky. It just has a Halloween vibe. The house was very dark inside even with blinds open. Some of the bedrooms never see sunshine. Also, there is a strong musty smell in the house. Smells old (which it is), smells a bit like wet dirt. I think if the owner put in new carpet this might help (a bit). The beds were comfortable. For those that have mobility issues there are a lot of stairs!!! There is a downstairs master bedroom however there are stairs to get to every room in the house, not kidding! Overall the stay was pleasant, the neighbors super nice, and they gave us good advice on taking our dog outside for her last bathroom. They even had exact times the bears come out and roam which they said was around 9pm. I do wish the pictures on VRBO were more accurate as to how dark the inside of this house truly is. The house does have history and what drew me to book was the fact it was once owned by the actress, Myrna Loy.
The home is gorgeous!!! Let me start off with that. Alicia was great with communication. The home is a little dirty, lots of spider/Cobb webs through the house, along with two broken windows( the office and sun room). 4 of the arcade games were not working. The outside was filthy and the trash cans on the property were already filled to the brim. Not enough toilet paper or paper towels. We stayed 4 nights and two of the nights a random large dog wandered on our property(my family and i brought two small dogs) so it was a little sketchy at times, mind you the upper neighbors are hoarders so there is literally junk all over the place. We did enjoy our stay but for how much we paid we just thought it would be a bit more for the pay scale and more secluded like the ad says. There is also mold growing in the screw passageway from the master to the arcade. It was a fun experience for our family but the house definitely needs alot of work.
Wonderful place with lots of trees. Just what I needed
