Interesting place nice location definitely will rebook
Beautiful building, old, slightly worn, charming. Some inconvenience such as no body soap or wash in any shower, no wine opener, only one wash cloth. Beds very comfy with good pillows and mattresses. Fun electric fireplaces. great location and unique. You WILL definitely hear people walking around above you in the loft apartment. Convenient fenced yard. Not manicured by any means but fine with me. Would definitely stay again.
Nice location, clean and very nice host.
We love Leadville. It's such a great town - it's so honest about itself, but as a result, accommodations can be hit or miss. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Governor's Mansion. It has a great location for walking to main street, it's quite spacious, and it's atmosphere fits Leadville perfectly. The mattresses are all memory foam / Purple style, and quite firm, which aren't our favorites but should hold up well for a rental property and were fine once settled in. The living room and pool table were great for evenings of struggling to stay awake after high-altitude adventures in the surrounding mountains. The fenced in front yard is also great for a morning or evening cup of something warm or cheery while idly tossing a ball for the pupper. Downsides - and these are all minor nits, nothing major - it's a bit rough around the edges - just like Leadville. The kitchen lighting was poor and the kitchen could do with a few more cooking utensils; the window coverings were a bit...rustic; and it could do with some better sound isolation between the two main units, primarily at the door between them at the front entry way; and it needed maybe some details like a bathroom shelf/table for toiletries in the master bedroom on the 2nd floor and a few updated bath fixtures that were showing some wear, but work fine. None of these distracted from our enjoyment of a unique home in the last high altitude wild west town on earth. It will be on our list when we return!
Overall a great place to stay. E we were delayed getting into town, so we will have to make a return trip to hang out in town and explore the house a bit more.
Wonderful stay, bedrooms upstairs are beautifully decorated. Enjoyed spending time with friends and family in the living room & playing billiards. Spacious kitchen and the yard was nice for our two small dogs to explore. Easy walk to restaurants and bars in Historic Leadville!
As a hiking party of three, we were looking for accommodations in Leadville that provided separate bedrooms, good facilities, and spacious room close enough to town to walk to restaurants and shops. This property exceeded our expectations in all areas. Bed mattresses were all excellent for great sleeping conditions, and the kitchen/dining area was spacious and well stocked. The property managers were available to answer all our questions and most helpful to newcomers to the Leadville area. We would definitely stay here again.
Old, just old and scary.
Loved the property! Great for kids!
We really enjoyed our stay, as did our pup we brought with us! Very impressed by the property and amenities - would certainly recommend!
