Out stay here was amazing!! House was clean and just as described. We enjoyed using the private dock to fish off of and enjoyed the views from it as well. Our host Judy was good communicating with me before, during and after our stay. The house is located close to several good restaurants and easy access to all of them. Best part was we were able to bring our fur baby, she had plenty of room to run and play in the yard! Would definitely recommend this house and would stay here again!!
This property was the perfect place for peace, rest and relaxation. The house was well-maintained and had everything we needed for a long weekend getaway with our pups. We kayaked, sat on the delightful screened porch, and relaxed on the expansive yard looking over the water. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come again.
We had a wonderful vacation on the Wye River. The house was spacious, with a gorgeous open kitchen and fabulous screened-in porch that received a nice breeze even in the midst of hot and humid weather. Everything needed to enjoy our stay was provided from spices, olive oil, soft towels, to paper goods and other necessities. The two paddle boards, kayaks, and gas grill were used often. Judy was very responsive to our few questions and called us personally to see how our stay was at the end of the trip. As this was our first trip to the Eastern Shore it took us a bit to get used to the area, but once we did there were plenty of stores and restaurants. The area is not a “resort town” so it took some creativity at times to entertain teenaged children. Overall the house was lovely and lived up to its listing and then some!
This home is absolutely gorgeous! Very clean, beautifully furnished and in the perfect location for a short family vacation. We didn’t want to leave. The property and views are amazing. The hosts very welcoming and responsive.
We enjoyed our week at this property completely. Every comfort that you could ask for and even more. We crabbed, we fished and we caught three snapping turtles which we quickly put back in the water. Will definitely be going back as soon as possible.
The home was very well appointed, updated furniture and appliances. A comfortable home. Our favorite place was the screened in porch to watch and hear the waterfowl. The owner was a joy to know, she was responsive to our every inquiry in a timely manner. We hated leaving this charming place.
This is a beautiful, spacious, clean house, very comfortable for our three-generation party of five adults and one toddler -- plus two dogs. The location is right on the Wye River, the atmosphere peaceful, the view from the house/shore outstanding. We made good use of the house-provided kayaks and paddle boards.
My family and I booked this house for Christmas as we all live in different places on the east coast. The house was perfect for our family, large enough to host a Christmas dinner, cozy, easy to access, and beautiful landscapes. The hosts were communicative and easy to get in touch with. I would highly recommend this property!
We wanted a place on the water, not on a big body of water but a tranquil place where we could gather crabs from our own dock, let my Chesapeake Bay Retriever run loose in a fenced yard, a place where we could sit with coffee in the morning catching up on social media or reading one of the books about the ready bay we were staying at. We had our son and his family with us and the kitchen/living room area being open let us visit while we cooked awesome seafood dinners with the biggest blue crabs on the bay (no kidding) The garage was packed with kayaks, paddle boards, crab traps and camp fire accessories. We have stayed at many home away vacation houses but this is by far our favorite. Do your self a favor and spend some time there, you won’t regret it ?
Our family rented this home for a week-long stay in late July 2018. There were seven of us (5 adults and 2 children), along with three dogs. We had a terrific stay, despite less than ideal weather for most of the week. For starters, the owners are very nice --- they were helpful with questions we had prior to our arrival, greeted us when we arrived and oriented us to the property and amenities, and were readily available to answer questions and address issues that arose during our stay. They also prepared a binder of information lots of details about the house and surrounding area, which was extremely helpful. The home and property are lovely. The cottage sits on two acres with a long waterfront on the Wye River - very tranquil, minimal boat traffic, and amazing sunsets. The property is fenced (except for along the waterfront) with a gate at the entrance. We kept the gate closed so that our dogs had the run of the entire two acres, which was fantastic. We didn't have to leash them the entire time we were there. The property also has ample parking (we had 4 vehicles and a trailer), a spacious garage, and a private dock, so we were able to bring our boat and keep it docked at the house. The closest launch to this property is Wye Landing, which was about a 45 minute boat ride away for our little fishing/crabbing boat going ~20 mph. A closer launch would have been more convenient, but the ride wasn't bad. The water was plenty deep to run the boat, even at low tide. Lots of amenities outside, including a fire pit, patio with gas and charcoal grills, two kayaks and two paddle boards. We took advantage of all of these. Inside, the home is spacious and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and a screened porch off the back. The owners allowed us to use their wide array of spices, which was great. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable, and the on-demand hot water was a nice amenity, given that there were seven of us. Overall, we were very pleased and would consider renting again.
