Todd, North Carolina
Our beautifully appointed, spacious home sits just above the banks of the New River, and offers guests a special place to stay to relax and to explore the high country. This is a birder’s paradise, with hiking trails in either direction on the river banks, or for the more adventurous, up to the top of the ridge. Other hiking trails are nearby, as well as tubing or kayaking outfitters to assist you. You can also fish from our private bridge where the trout like to hide, or hire a local guide for fly fishing. During ski season, the slopes at Beech Mountain or Sugar are only 45 minutes away, Appalachian even closer. The historic town of Todd is in your backyard, Boone is only 7 miles away (10 minutes), West Jefferson is 10 miles away (15 mins), and Blowing Rock is 15 Miles (20 minutes). Interesting shopping, including outlet malls, quaint artistic areas and local color, Appalachian State University, are all within a short drive. But you may not want to leave your porch!

House was very clean. Very quiet.
Great house and location, family thoroughly enjoyed it! Manager was very helpful!
It was much needed get away
The house was very nice and very well stocked with everything that was needed. We just wished that there was better access to the river. It was overgrown and no way to enter the river.
A very beautiful, well-stocked cabin, right outside of Boone. Sitting directly in between two different tubing, companies. Don’t pass on this amazing cabin.
Had my kid come over to stay and we had a great time very relaxing family time……Love it
This was the best vacation we have ever had! The home, location, and experience was amazing! Thank you so much!
Very good and was better than we expected
Very nice property on a quiet mountain lane. You can sit on the front porch and listen to the sounds of the New River. Very relaxing.
The cabin was everything we wanted and needed for our small company retreat. It had plenty of indoor and outdoor areas. We loved all the outside seating and listening to the river off the back decks. We also enjoyed the fire pit next to the water. The huge updated kitchen was wonderful and fully stocked with any appliance and utensils you would need. It was so secluded and peaceful...Would definitely recommend this wonderful place!
We enjoyed staying at the house. Had room to spread out and the views of the river were wonderful.
The Carroll's are wonderful hosts. House is well appointed and has most everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We booked very early on in the planning of our wedding. We prayed that our dream to say our vows on the New River would be perfect. The daughter of the property owner, Beth C. is NOT kind, is dishonest and rude. The property was dirty upon arrival. Home was not even ready for us at 4pm check in time, 1 hr late. Beth & partner were still cleaning up large wedding floral arrangements from driveway entry posts & all around the property near the barn. Clearly, there was a wedding there the weekend before ours, and this was confirmed as well by D at Jefferson Rent All-who had delivered a dance floor to this exact address the prior weekend. When we arrived, we were angrily told by Beth that we were not allowed to set up our tent even by the river. I guess our wedding was not as important as whomever was married the prior weekend, we felt discriminated against. We even offered to pay her extra to accommodate us, offered to get a one-day umbrella liability policy if that was the issue all of a sudden! Beth told us after this that we COULD set our tent up in the house's courtyard. We went up to the house to see this tiny, unkept garden, we explained that we would make it work in this little spot somehow. Tears...We wanted to marry and not have to tell our few guests that the ceremony would not be at the location that was on our invitations anymore. HOWEVER, 15 mins later, Beth then changes her dishonest mind once again and says that we COULD NOT have ANY event on this property AT ALL because they do not do weddings/events anywhere on the property anymore? No bride should ever have to beg in tears.... No remorse, no help, no empathy. WE HAD TO CHANGE EVERYTHING!! Our venue, cancel the rental of dance floor, chairs, tell all of our out-of-town guests that the venue site had to be changed. We stayed at the house but only to sleep uncomfortably. This house is not a wedding venue of any sort! The wording needs to be removed from the bottom of this VRBO listing. I have pictures of how dirty it was when were finally allowed (1 hour late) to get into the house. Spiders & webs behind beds, creepy, insane # of moths, mold and even moss growing inside the upstairs bedroom door leading out to porch. Stains all over carpets etc. Like a said-STAY AWAY! There's much cleaner, cheaper homes in area. Jetted tub w no motor to run! UNBELIEVABLE! Advertised still on WeddingWire & The Knot site. Plus found this:bethandmolly wedding invite online weekend prior to ours.
Enjoyed a Fabulous 2nd Family Reunion in this accommodating River Home on the New River! Great Open Kitchen and Dining Room! Large spacious LR with comfortable leather furniture and views from the windows! The decks surround the cabin with tables & sitting areas!
We love going to Todd, NC every summer. Perfect location. Beautiful property. Lots of wildlife to view. Listened to the stream from front porch. Very relaxing. Great experience!
We were looking for a property that we could take both sets of our parents to see our son graduate from App State. This property worked out great!! Very nice well equipped property. The driveway is steep and no cell service, so keep that in mind, but the WiFi worked well and there’s a landline
