Reviewer Comments: We have been visiting Kiawah Island for 20 years and have stayed in many houses on the island so you could say our standards are high! 144 Hooded Merganser met every one of our needs (and our standards), from how clean the house was, to the luxurious furniture and even the brand-new looking appliances. This house exceeded our expectations and made our stay a great one! We will most likely book this house again in the future! Thanks for an awesome trip!

Apparently ESPM does not have 24/7 contract. Didn't get fixed until Monday, while we sweated on a hot Sunday night in Kiawah. Liner to one of the showers disgusting. Called for a replacement on Monday, but didn't get it util Thursday. Each bathroom with too sinks only got 1 bar of soap. Too cheap to give a bar of soap for every sink? Requested Late check-out twice online and received no response, although answer was supposed to come within 72 hours of check-out. But charged my credit card no problem without responding. When asked for it in writing all I got was, you were approved. No sorry, nothing. House itself was ok, except for what I mentioned above. Best part is close to beach. Other than that, I would NOT recommend it.

Reviewer Comments: Our family had a very nice stay at 144 Hooded Merganser over the 4th of July week- the home is so well cared for, and wonderfully appointed in every way; we have stayed at many homes all throughout the island, and this is one of the best ever!! The screened in porch is idyllic with its lagoon view, and the house is in perfect condition- the layout of the bedrooms gives everyone space to unwind, and the kitchen was beautiful. It is a real gem behind Kiawah's second gate- easy walk to the beach several times a day.

The island did not disappoint and neither did 144 Hooded Merganser. The house was gorgeous and very well appointed and maintained. The communication with ESPM was also excellent.
