Stayed Jul 5, 2025Lovely home in a great location! Check-in process was timely and informative. Property manager was responsive when we had to have a toaster replaced. We could feel the home vibes of this place. Kids (all 4 and under) loved sharing the kids room and spreading out in the backyard.

Stayed Aug 2, 2025Check in is a snap. Property manager was great, one step ahead of us all the time. Updated kitchen with everything we needed for the week. Many places to eat, shop and visit nearby, some in walking distance. We had 12 adults and 7 kids and had plenty of room. Adults would sit around the gas fire pit (woman loved the no smoke) at night with cocktails while the kids played in backyard or watched TV. Very nice area, everything on premise was available to use, nobody wanted to leave. Thanks for everything!

Stayed Jun 28, 2025We had to take a redeye to get to Boston and we were lucky enough to be able to check in early after exhausting flight. The owner accommodated us which helped out greatly with the multigenerational family members between the age of two and 64. It gave us a chance to settle in, toddler to nap and walk around the old town streets of Sandwich. The house is in a perfect location for everything -easy to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, shops, spa, glass museum, mill, and only a short drive to Sandwich Canal for more restaurants and beach access. The house was set up with a touch of old and a touch of new. There was plenty a room for everyone. Kids room and a kids playroom, plenty of bedrooms with comfy linens and mattresses and bathrooms in each room plus two on the main floor, extra areas for quiet reading or family movie night. Outdoor gas firepit perfect for making s’mores or relaxing after a busy day of site seeing. Our granddaughter enjoyed the backyard with tire swing and play structure. The hot tub and sauna was nice for adults. The house was well equipped. We even used their chairs for the beach and for the Fourth of July parade that went by the house. The communication with Amanda was wonderful. Welcome basket was great at making us feel at home.

Stayed Aug 11, 2024Lovely home with enough bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate our group of 16 (13 adults and 3 children ages 8, 15, and 16) and two dogs. We really enjoyed the sunroom with the large dining table, where we were able to all sit down for several family meals during our stay. The kitchen was well-equipped (really like having the sharping stone for the knives). Having both the single-serving Keurig and the 10-cup coffee maker worked well for our large group. The location made for easy walking to the boardwalk and beach as well as for some souvenir shopping and visits to the bakery. It was the perfect spot for exploring other parts of the Cape. Candace was such a wonderful host. We enjoyed the welcome bag with all sorts of goodies and a personal note. The smores kit was enjoyed around the fire pit and the bottle of wine did not last very long.

Stayed Jul 28, 2024Four families plus two dogs stayed at this little compound, and it was a perfect little haven for us all. Enough rooms and sleeping arrangements for all the adults to have real beds and even teenagers have their own escapes. In our party is a severely allergic child and the kitchen was clean and organized enough to handle that, and having the separate kitchenette and fridge in a completely separate cottage for outside foods was perfect. Slightly mazelike rooms actually very charming and made us feel like we were exploring the kind of house with a doorway to Narnia (we are from boring West Coast suburbia so this kind of house is super novel to us). Both covered and open outdoor space so prepared for all weather (it rained a bit). A dining table big enough for 15! Very well-stocked kitchen (enough stuff to use while half of it in dishwasher). The neighborhood is absolutely lovely, very walkable, the historic section of Sandwich. Nothing like reading a book on the history of the area and realizing they refer to the intersection right outside your door or the library some feet away. The place is very well run, obviously by detail oriented people. Highly recommend, even if we suspect we won't be able to come here later due to popularity!

Stayed Jun 29, 2024This house was amazing! Located in the heart of downtown Sandwich, our group of 12 were able to come and go as we pleased without having to drive everywhere! Lots of cute restaurants, shops, and museums in Sandwich plus a short walk to the boardwalk and beach. The house was clean and there was plenty of space for everyone. Host was responsive when we needed them (which wasn’t often as they thought of most everything), and there were lots of bedding, towels, beach chairs and towels, and even robes for when you exited the hot tub. Our family loved this place and would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Jun 21, 2024This house and property is lovely in every way. Care and thought have been put into all the details making staying here seamless from beginning to end. The hosts are communicative, available, and helpful. Sandwich is a wonderful location from which to visit the Cape. From the house itself there are endless explorations to enjoy for all ages and interests. All thirteen of our family members (ages 3-78) highly recommend August House !
