Gorgeous cottage is only a two hour from Toronto

From check-in the experience was not great. Communication was poor. The lockbox code wasn't provided on the Vrbo site and property owner didn't respond to messages. I fear had we not found the owner's contact info on Google we would not have had a place to sleep for the night. It was certainly a little embarrassing as the person who booked to have our group of 7 sitting in the driveway trying to figure out how to get in when the code should have been provided prior to arriving. The interior of the house was nice and appeared to be recently updated. That being said, there was pretty well the bare minimum as far as amenities. No hand towels in the washroom, barely half a roll of toilet paper. Bring your own pillows and sleeping bag or blankets. The bedding provided was minimal and uncomfortable. Found one frying pan that was heavily rusted and very limited kitchen supplies otherwise. We needed to do a fair bit of improvising when cooking meals. Outside there was a bbq, a nice deck and 6 plastic Muskoka chairs. Again, it really felt like the bare minimum had been done to post this property. Aside from the bar stools at the kitchen counter there really wasn't a good table for eating together. The water was nauseating. The sulphur smell coming out of the taps was so much so that those sitting outside could smell when someone was taking a shower. It became a bit of a running joke for the weekend. A lot of little things that would have made it a better experience and I hope these things are taken into consideration for the next folks staying there.

House was clean and beautiful, would recommend anyone who wants to stay there, the area was beautiful, about 10 mins drive to a beautiful lake, beach and a beautiful little town with very friendly people
