Welcome to Ullr’s Treehouse, a charming, small, 1,400 sq. ft. eccentric retreat, spread over four distinct levels with roughly 350 sq. ft. per floor. Nestled against Chugach State Park land and just two miles from Alyeska Resort Daylodge, this unique, hexagon-shaped cabin offers a forest escape while still beingclose to Girdwood’s attractions, including Girdwood Park Playground & Skate, just 1.5 miles away.

With log cabin-style walls and a brand-new 2026 oversized hot tub, and gazebo, you’ll feel connected to nature whether you’re soaking outdoors or enjoying the warm glow of the gas fireplace indoors. True to its Treehouse name, this four-story retreat rises into the trees, offering a cozy perch among the evergreens. While the living spaces are designed to be cozy and intimate, the multi-level layout allows your group to find their own little corner to relax. Just be ready to summon your inner mountain goat for the four flights of stairs!

The third-floor loft-style primary bedroom, with a bed nestled under the sloped ceiling, features forest views, a small private outdoor alcove with seating, and an en-suite bathroom. The first-floor guest bedrooms are a snug 140 sq. ft. Though smaller in size, they provide a restful space for unwinding after a day of adventure. Note, that the communal entrance to the back is through the exterior door of one of the bedrooms.

The compact kitchen on the second floor is well-appointed with everything you need to cook and enjoy meals. Just steps away, a bonus area with a leather sectional and TV offers a convenient place to relax on the second floor. Head down to the basement, where you’ll find leather recliners, stereo, second TV, PlayStation 4, and a private washer/dryer, making this level a fun and functional hangout space.

Outside, lounge on one of the outdoor decks, grill some delicious food, or take a dip in the large hot tub backed up to the over grown, old-growth, state forest land. Although there are neighbors on each side of Ullr’s Treehouse, the back of the property is serene and magical. Out the door adventure awaits, on a small 0.25 mile trodden path behind the house that joins up with Beaver Pond Trail, connecting you to downtown Girdwood. Out front, the paved and lighted Alyeska Multi-Use Pathway runs parallel to the Alyeska Highway, extending from the Seward Highway to the Hotel Alyeska. Not wanting to drive Call Glacier Valley Transit to pick you up and drop you off at the bottom of the driveway, along the Alyeska Highway.

Whether you’re visiting for summer hikes and biking through lush green rainforests, salmon fishing down the road at Bird Creek, or coming for winter ski trips, with stops at the Alyeska Nordic Spa, this small uniquely designed retreat offers everything you need for a memorable stay. And if you’re lucky, Ullr himself may bless your visit with a legendary Girdwood snowstorm—because if there’s one thing this Norse god knows, it’s how to send the perfect powder day your way.

Internet did not work. We spent two days trying to fix it and the router was broken. We had to rent another cabin so we could work east coast hours. We were unable to stay at this cabin because of the broken router and lack of internet access. We requested a refund but the host denied. We will never stay with this host again.

We had an awesome time here. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed! It is MUCH bigger than it looks. There are two living rooms which was really nice and a big laundry room. Although there are neighbors they are fairly concealed by trees and brush and behind the property is nothing but nature. You can walk a little less than a mile down to the shops and a really fabulous pizza place (don’t miss out on that). We would stay here again.

Fun, adorable house with lots of stairs! Bedrooms were tight but fine for our 2 night stay. Hot tub was lovely! Kitchen had plenty of supplies. Grill was clean! Comfortable furniture and beds.

Family of 4 with teens (14&17) first visit to Alaska. Wanted a comfortable place to ourselves away from town and Ullrs did not disappoint! Plenty of room, amenities close by, wilderness out the back door! Saw a mouse and calf come thru the yard one morning. Hot tub is awesome! Great location for all of our day trips to Seward, Whittier, hiking, etc. Would gladly stay again. Thanks!

After flying into anchorage from the east coast this was a great place to stay for a couple nights, relax, and get over the jet lag. Very comfortable, clean, and close to the mountain for activities.

We really loved the layout of the home. There was plenty of space for 3 adults and a 18 year old. We enjoyed the proximity to hiking trails and restaurants. The hot tub was the nicest one we’ve ever had at a VRBO. It was spacious and had a nice size roof over it. This was clutch as it rained the whole time we were there and we still could enjoy the hot tub.

Incredibly comfortable, love the loftiness of the high floors, great decks and outdoor spaces, and convenient to town without being in town.

This place was super cute, clean, and relaxing! The hot tub had a unique odor so didn’t spend as much time hot tubbing as we had liked. The views are incredible; note neighbors are nearby so you are not completely isolated in the woods, but extremely quiet location. The house has all you need to cook and enjoy the outdoors.

This was a perfect place for us to stay with our family of five, including three kids. There are a lot of steps since the place has four levels. The kids especially loved the surrounding area of the woods, and we all enjoyed the hot tub. What a treasure!

My family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed the Birdhouse. The house was clean and eclectic and nestled in the woods. The kitchen was fully stocked. The hot tub/ gazebo was beautifully done and hit the spot after adventuring in Alaska. Hope to return again.

The cabin exceeded our expectations! The kitchen was well-equipped, where we made breakfast and even baked birthday cupcakes. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we each had a restful night's sleep. One of the highlights was the outdoor space that each of us enjoyed. The two separate living areas were a fantastic feature, allowing us to unwind and watch our favorite shows without compromise. The location was ideal for exploring nearby attractions such as Anchorage, Palmer, and Seward. Girdwood itself is a gem- wonderful restaurants, a local market, and a ski resort with breathtaking views from the tram. Overall, our stay was superb, and we will certainly recommend this cabin to others seeking a memorable getaway!
