Thank you so much for such a great place to stay for our wedding weekend! The manager was so accommodating and kind.
We had a wonderful stay with all 11 of us. Beautiful property on the lake with a boat dock. Plenty of bedrooms for everyone. And we loved the extra kitchen and living area downstairs. That made It great for the kids Fantastic part of the lake. Not a lot of boat traffic. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay in Shady Oaks! It was our family of 9 ranging in age from 6 to 78 years old. The house was in fantastic condition. The layout is great. There are great views of the lake from the house. The house was well stocked with kitchen items, games, etc. We enjoyed eating and sitting out on the upper deck. The dock area was large and well laid out with a shaded area and sunny area. We enjoyed the stand up paddle boards, kayak, and assortment of floats. Was a lovely house!
This house exceeding our expectations in many ways. From the cleanliness, decor, space, and view made for a perfect family vacation. The icing on the cake was the extremely prompt and communicative property manager, Travis. We understand that sometimes a description of a vacation rental home and the amenities can be very subjective. For example, we like to cook most of our meals and this kitchen had, what we consider, an actual fully stocked kitchen! Other things that we loved was having multiple refrigerators/2 kitchen areas, indoor and outdoor dining space (with lots of citronella candles if needed), two living spaces, a game room, a space to play cards, poker, board games, plenty of bathrooms, a dock and boat house space for our boat, paddle boards, and a kayak to use. We really had a great week! Some things to mention if you've never been to a lake house and so you what normal expectations are that can't really be avoided: misquotes, spiders, spider webs, bugs; we recommend keeping all the outside lights off at night if you're going to be out, otherwise plan for a house full of misquotes. Expect the path down to the dock and deck to be spider webbed by morning if you've clear the area of webs. To get to the dock/boat house, they have added steps and railing which is probably nicer and safer than what the pictures show. 51 concrete/man-made steps that lead to 15 wooden, manufactured steps. These got muddy and slick with rain. We would not hesitate renting again!
We had a friends weekend getaway here recently. The home was Clean, specious, plenty of natural light and well stocked with amenities and supplies to support several families. All in all, our entire group loved the house and attached dock on the lake. We will definitely consider staying here again with our families.
Everything was as advertised
Some girlfriends and I spent a long weekend at this home and had a great experience. There was a lot of space for everyone to feel comfortable and have their own privacy, but the communal areas allowed for a great feeling of togetherness. The home was clean, the listing was accurate, and it was an easy check in/out process. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay in Lake Anna!
This property is very well stocked and very peaceful. Our family stayed and had a great time!! The view of the lake is expansive and we were able to watch a beautiful sunset! A couple of recommendations for the property managers. 1. Lots of spider webs all over the dock and deck and bird poop. We had to do a bit of cleaning in order to enjoy. 2. Bathrooms specifically the tubs needed to be cleaned. 3. Water pressure seemed to be an issue. Specifically at the bathroom faucets, some only have a trickle of water come out.
The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The property owners are very helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This property was a great place to stay & very clean! Plenty of space for 8 adults and could easily accommodate a few children as well. Beautiful lake scenery! We loved the fire pit and having a grill present to cookout! The communication with owners was excellent and they were extremely accommodating. The location offered plenty of privacy and was tucked nicely away of the road in this quiet neighborhood! I would highly recommend this place for rental!
very enjoyable lake house. We had family events to attend in a nearby (30mins away) town, which prevented us from really enjoying all the facilities enough. We barely got to use the kitchen, the kayaks, the paddleboards, the air hockey, etc., and didn't get to enjoy any of the books, board games, or patio spaces. I would recommend a minimum five-day stay here.
Home is well appointed and quite nice. There were plenty of items to cook with, including a nice assortment of spices and such. The lake area and neighborhood are lovely - our entire family had a great time. The hosts were really responsive and helpful too, great experience!
great!
What a wonderful property to stay. Amenities where plentiful and amazing! The dock was absolutely stunning and there is a fridge inviting you to stay down there all day! The expanded “kitchen” area downstairs was a huge plus when accommodating a family of 12. The appliances and kitchenwares were in great shape and plentiful. The board games and decks of cards were awesome and welcomed. We had a great stay and would absolutely stay again. Lake Anna was gorgeous. The view from this house was amazing.
This is our first Vrbo experience. The view from the property is beautiful, reflect the online imaging. However I felt that the property is not user friendly. There is no shampoo/body soap supply, no communication on that. We have to drive long way to get it in nearby shop, because of the rural area. Also the property ask us to do our linens by ourself, and take it off when leave regardless we already paid additional fee for linens and cleaning. These are the things you normally don't need to worry about when check-in at hotel. These are the key learnings for us for our next trip.
What a wonderful home and property to get away from the city. The house is beautiful, clean, fully stocked with kitchen gear, very comfortable/cozy, with the best view. Can't ask for anything else!
Picture perfect views through expansive tall windows (my favorite!), comfortable and good quality furniture, super clean and not used looking, great beds throughout, more than everything you need in the kitchen, large enclosed deck, easy stairs to the large boat dock which is like-new and partially covered, and a good walking neighborhood!
This house is gorgeous, well stocked/supplied with everything you need and the views are incredible. We did Thanksgiving here and the kitchen was well stocked with all of the pots, pans, dishes and kitchen tools. The basement area is great for the kids to escape to for video games, games and general kid play. The kitchen and living room upstairs are spacious and open. All the bedrooms are a great size, newer and very comfortable. The dock is really spacious and I would think offers nice shade for summer time. We got to enjoy some kayaking even in November and it was awesome. Can imagine it would be fantastic in the summer!
