Stayed Aug 29, 2024Stayed here to be close to The Gorge amphitheater - and the location is just spectacular. Easy “commute” to the Gorge using the neighborhood shuttle service, and Sunland Estates is a fun little enclave with a park, convenience store, hot dog stand (River Dogs - yummy!), and great spots to hop in the Columbia River. The hosts were fabulous communicators - sending us recommendations for local activities, recommending the shuttle service, and ensuring we were all ready for check-in. The property was clean and quiet. Some of the beds are pretty thin (the bunk beds specifically, fair warning), but everything was clean and ready to go. The kitchen is stocked with basics but definitely bring anything you think you might need to cook. The cookware and cutlery is functional but in a bit of disrepair. The major issue was that because the property was up against the cliff, there was minimal cell signal, and the WiFi was not functional. Although the managers were very responsive, they weren’t able to get it fixed, which meant that we spent about six hours one day sitting in their driveway using their WiFi (they kindly shared!) so we could take work calls/do emails/rtc, and we even drove up the hill to Wild Horse campground to use their WiFi on occasion. The combo of no WiFi and no cell signal was hugely problematic, especially as WiFi is advertised as part of the property (ie, we would not have stayed there if we knew the WiFi would be out). Overall a fun spot though!
