Goon-docks

Our stay at Goondocks was fantastic. We got a text from Diana before arriving with all the ins and outs of the house and area. This location, three minutes to Haystack Rock was so convenient...no worrying about parking! We printed a tide chart which was very helpful to know as the tide pools (awesome!) were visible at low and extreme low tides. We went to the beach to see the rock every morning and every afternoon/night. You can have fires right on the beach. The view was always different and awe inspiring. We made breakfast/coffee every morning at the house. Enjoyed sitting on the deck, drinking coffee and then wine later sitting around the fire table. Made some fabulous dinners too. The house is very warm and inviting. Beds are cozy. We had everything we needed. Read reviews about stairs...we thought they were no issue, short flights that took you to different levels. You could see the rock from so many places in the house. Cannon Beach is a very welcoming town, centrally located for our needs. We drove north through Seaside (another great town) to Astoria, which we also loved (yeah, we saw the Goonies house) and on another day drove south to Depoe Bay to go whale watching - and boy did we see whales! We got fluked probably a dozen times. And anywhere you went, there were scenic views that did not disappoint! We had such a great time here none of us wanted to leave. We had a great time being together in a home with great views and very well stocked kitchen.

This is a wonderful Cannon Beach rental. The multi level design of the house gives plenty of space for both togetherness and privacy for our extended family of ten (6 adults and four children ages 3-12). It is perched on a hill right above Haystack Rock - access to both the beach and the charming town is very easy and there is lots and lots to do. Diana is an excellent host and makes the whole rental experience a pleasure.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay here! The views were amazing! The house wasclean and comfortable! The fireplace was nice on cool mornings while having our coffee. Evenings by the fire table on the deck were so relaxing, especially with a nice glass of wine. We had everything we needed to cook several meals while there. If we had any questions Diana was very attentive and sooo sweet! The bedrooms were beautiful with great views, very cozy! Yes there are stairs, but even my sister who has a bad ankle from a bad break and several surgeries was able to get up and down them. My 3 year old grandson loved the bunk bed! He thought it was great sleeping in there with grandpa! It was a great place to spend time making memories with family. We also made friends with the bunnies who live in the backyard! They were very tame and even let my 3 year old grandson pet them! We will definitely come back to make more memories! Thanks again Diana you are a wonderful host!

Lovely location! Nice and clean! There are a few stairs but looking out on haystack rock from bed makes it all worth it!

That was the response we received to finding ants all over the kitchen and in two of the bedrooms with a can of Raid on the kitchen counter. there were ant traps in every room. We fought the ants the entire stay. Difficult to cook in the kitchen because of the ants. They were even in the dishwasher.The property was a bit disappointing especially for the price. The view is nice but not like in the picture. There are two large trees obstructing some of the view from the main living area. Although it is a beautiful area and very close to the beach. But even more upsetting was the lack of cleanliness of the home upon arrival. The floors clearly had not been cleaned and the main shower had globs of something in it. I reached out to the manager about the cleanliness to be told, well it usually rents for 1000/night. So that means it shouldn't be clean? This rental was not a relaxing experience. Cannon beach itself is a lovely town and the rental is a short walk to town. The beach is fantastic and haystack rock is incredible.

We had a wonderful time in Cannon Beach with excellent weather. Diane was very helpful during our stay and the house was well equipped with everything we needed. We stayed 5 days, enjoyed the beach walks, elk in the park, shopping downtown and the beautiful sunsets at Haystack Rock. Thanks Diane for allowing us to stay at your amazing property.

Property owner was so great to work with and the spot is so beautiful and easy access to beach. Loved the cozy feel of the home and would definitely stay again.

This is a wonderful house for a multi-generational family vacation (grandparents, children and spouses and grandchildren). It feels very private, has excellent beach access and is an easy walk into town and/or easy driving/parking access. The house is super clean, well- equipped and has very comfortable gathering spaces, as well as a lovely large deck. There are ocean views everywhere and the sound of the waves is incredibly soothing. Diana is a superlative hostess. She made our 2-week stay very easy and was super-responsive to questions as they came up. If we could give more that 5 stars we would!

Amazing property with lots of space, perfect location and well stocked. Lots of beach chairs, etc. Especially loved the balcony and fire table. Super kid friendly too! My kids loved the swing set and dollhouse! (Dollhouse can be tucked away in closet for those who don’t want)

Wonderful host. Great communication. Great for our family of 5 (adult kids) but would also work for other families, group of friends. Views from all rooms and location can’t be beat. Easy walk to town.
