Golf course and lagoon views!

Overall our stay was amazing! The neighborhood was quiet and we got to see a lot of wildlife. The view was also great!

I would recommend including coffee filters. This is something that is often forgotten when shopping for groceries for the stay so to have them provided would be nice. The pool was lovely but it was too cold to go into. It would be nice to be able to heat the pool. We would have paid extra for this. Overall, we really enjoyed how close the accommodation was to the pickleball courts and other amenities. We rented bikes and used them exclusively to get around the island. This was a huge benefit to us. We literally never got into our car during our stay.

Big downside for us was the quality of the beds which were really really firm and not comfortable. The shuttle service was super convenient to get kids back and forth on hot days. A few small things would have made the stay even better like just providing toilet paper and not just a “starter roll” or salt and pepper in the kitchen. But overall was a good experience for us.

Overall we had a great week! The layout of the house was perfect for the group we had going. We enjoyed time by the pool and the short ride to the beach!

Reviewer Comments: There were so many things we loved of our experience at Palmetto Dunes, the comfort and quality of the furnishings of the home were not part of what we loved. The staff and in particular the Maintenance staff were qualified and very helpful with the several maintenance problems we had with the house. The location of the home to the beach, pickleball, golf, General Store and restaurants was perfect. . The house is a lot warn, dark, needed more information for TV operation, needed fire extinguishers, an operable grill, and needs major upgrades to warrant a better review.

Great place to stay. My only concern is very little backyard lighting. Especially near the water.

We really enjoyed our stay at 15 Promontory. The lagoon view was fantastic, and the house is oriented south so the back porch and pool were nice and shady. I loved the layout of the house, with a central lodge-like living and dining space, and the pairs of bedrooms completely separated (with their own HVAC). This would be great for two couples with 1-2 kids each. It was also great for us—one family with four kids. The teens got their own suites! The master bathroom has a steam shower which connects to a rainforest shower with five heads, which was nice. My only complaints about the house had to do with the cooking situation. The kitchen was a huge attention-getter (with the massive propane range), but with no exhaust vent, it’s more for show than functional. The fact that the windows don’t open makes it even more difficult to air the place out after cooking bacon or blackened grouper. With a kitchen like that, you'd expect a high-end grill out back—not so much. The grill is a tailgater-style with a partially functional circular burner and a grate that is more like a perforated griddle. If you have ambitions of cooking for multiple couples, it’s not going to cut it. Also, the four sliding doors on the rear of the house have retractable screens, all of which were completely trashed. I told maintenance, and they were already aware. For a September rental, it would have been nice to open the house up, rather than wasting energy running the a/c, but given the condition of the screens, and the sealed front windows, that wasn’t happening. Overall, we had a great time and felt it was a good value for our money.
