Stayed Dec 20, 2025Loved this house for a family gathering - well laid out shared space, four beds and four baths plus a pocket bathroom - everyone had their space when they wanted it and could come together too

Stayed Jun 22, 2025This home can accommodate a large family comfortably. There are ample bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms, and the living spaces are great for hanging out. The beds were very comfortable. The master bedroom and bath upstairs is lovely but might be challenging for some as there are steep steps that must be navigated. Overall it was a beautiful place with views of amazing sunsets from the living room!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house is incredibly spacious, well appointed and really quite lovely. We rent a house every year for our extended family and this was one of the better ones. The location is great and the house was clean. I just want to point out that there were a few surprises that could have ruined this trip and should definitely be in the listing--I feel it's important to note that while it is not obvious from the pictures or house description, there are steep tile stairs leading from the master bedroom into the adjoining master bathroom and no door between the two. So, if you have any issues with stairs or don't like looking at a toilet from your bed, this house might not work for you. We had reserved that room for my senior parents and there was no way they could stay in that room and every other bed was in use so it was a bummer. And in a house this nice and well built, I really don't understand why they didn't put a bathroom door in. Very odd design choice. Also, if you are on the front deck there is quite a bit of highway noise as well as airport noise. The highway and Truckee airport are visible from the house. Just wanted to note that because some folks go to Tahoe for the quiet. We had a great time though and made it work. Note: I did email Tahoe Getaways that they should update the listing to accurately reflect what the master bathroom situation is but no changes have been made otherwise I would not have put this in the review.

Stayed Jun 17, 2024Its a nice property and well maintained. The area is of course beautiful as is the development where this home is located. The posting is accurate. We were a family of 5 with 2 dogs and it was comfortable for us. The master bedroom is on the upper level as the kitchen with the other bedrooms being on the lower level which may not be ideal if you have young children. In our case our children are 18+ and so the bedrooms being on the lower level worked out fine. Getting in out of the curved driveway requires some care but not a biggie. South Lake Tahoe is over an hour away so something to be aware. Overall, it is a very nice place and would consider staying there again

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The Goldmine home offered both a relaxing and recreational experience for our multi-generational family with all the amenities one would hope for. From the beautifully appointed decor to the luxuriousness of the four ensuites every consideration was made with comfort in mind. The three decks helped to extend the living space and the steam shower was an added relaxation bonus. The Northstar community recreation center provided a fun-filled day of workouts, swimming and crafts.

Stayed Mar 28, 2024By far, this is the best vacation rental we've stayed at in Northstar. The cabin has a unique floorplan with lots of nooks and crannies for your family or group to spend time together or pursue their own activities. I loved that the kitchen surveys the common space -- a big dining room, living room with TV and fireplace, and a smaller living room (we called it the reading room) that opens onto the patio. My kids (17, 14, 11) loved the Pac Man arcade machine and the pool table. The entire family loved that this house was both dog-friendly and almost surgically clean -- what a combo! The beds are all super comfortable (and firm!), so everyone slept well. The heater isn't as effective on the lower level, but there were space heaters available in all the lower bedrooms, so everyone stayed warm. The house has a good selection of games, and the TV options are cable and Netflix. And the hill out back is perfect for sledding...we found two disc-style sleds in the garage. The primary bedroom suite is on the top floor (along with kitchen and all common space), and the other three bedrooms are on the ground level. My three kids loved having their own rooms, and their own bathrooms away from mom and dad. (If your kids are young enough that they wake in the night and want the reassurance of parents nearby, the floorplan makes it tricky, because they'd have to come all the way upstairs to find you.) This was our second time staying at this house this ski season -- it's our new family favorite. FIVE STARS!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Enjoyed our stay at this home. It is in excellent condition and very convenient for skiing at Northstar with use of the shuttle. Home is well equipped, clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was great for our group of four couples. I would definitely recommend this vacation rental.
