Beautiful historic home, on an amazing property. The River was a bit of a trek from the home but well worth it. We enjoyed everything about our stay, and we will be coming back soon.
The quaint-Texas elegant farm house with its comfortable furnishings and historical artwork was perfect and priced right. The private treed site and fire-pit rock and forest back yard more than offset the older style of the house. What topped it all was the walk through the orchard to the stunning private riverside setting where we spent hours in seclusion and beauty. The host delivered warm muffins and even had plenty of coffee and other necessaries all in position. We will be coming back.
This is our third stay and it's becoming our home away from home when we visit our Texas family. It's comfortable, has a farm animals and wildlife nearby, the river is a wonderful place to visit and the hosts are extremely kind and accommodating. We love it there!
Sheron was a peach to work with! She took pride in her property and was very knowledgeable about it. She even made us homemade blueberry muffins. I feel she went over and beyond and was wonderful with her communication skills!
You cannot beat this property!! We have stayed many places and we just love the landscape of Scurlock Farms! This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. This is a great family vacation spot. Chilling by the river was lots of fun, and our daughter loved it. Sheron was so helpful as always, and made the best muffins for us! We got a flat and one of her sons came to help us right away. You can’t go wrong with Scurlock Farms.
We had a great experience at Scurlock Farms. Sheron and her family were so welcoming and were the best host. My kids enjoyed interacting with all the animals and exploring the property. Unfortunately, due to the drought, we were not able to enjoy the river on the property but hoping to go back soon when the river is flowing once again. I would definitely recommend vacationing with the Scurlocks!!!
The ease of checking in was flawless. The house was well designed with wonderful furniture and kitchen accessories. The original artwork added to the charm of the property along with the thousands of river rock used to construct the home. The river was down but our grandchildren used the riverbed to find fossils The ownber's sons took our grandchildren to feed the goats and chickens as well as to drive the tractor. The family that owns the property could not have been nicer. And let's not forget the homemade banana muffins that were waiting for us when we arrived. If you want a totally wonderful vacation stay come stay at Scurlock Farms.
The property is very scenic and relaxing. Access to the river was easy and rewarding even though the water level was low due to the drought. The house is very well kept and well stocked. We enjoyed the wild bird variety and the deer. Sheron Scurlock took us on a tour of the property and gave some history which made us love it even more. Access to Georgetown and Round Rock was easy and fun. We would stay there again.
We had a wonderful week at Scurlock Farms. Sheron is the greatest hostess, from the tour, to the muffins, and the great accommodations, it exceeded all of our expectations. We loved the daily hikes down to the river and the bird-watching. Highly recommend staying here.
We fell in love with Rocky Overlook the moment we drove onto the property. As my son and I said we found our zen staying here. Just what the three of us needed. Sheron and family are the best host!
This was our second stay at the property. The friendly, hospitable property manager was very welcoming, answered all our questions and more than met every need. We look forward to returning!
