The Bunkhouse is a new and unique facility, specially designed for group gatherings. It is housed inside of a former dairy barn, initially constructed in 1885. The original beam construction is preserved and visible throughout the lodge-style facility. The Bunkhouse offers all of the necessary accommodations for your group, including a full and spacious kitchen, a central great room and a game room. There are three bunkrooms, each with their own bathroom. The main floor of the barn has been restored to host larger group gatherings (100+) in a hall setting called the Lower Corral (separate rental). Additional lower level amenities are associated with the founding company, Pheasants @ Large, LLC, a private hunting preserve. These amenities include a locker room, a game cleaning area, and indoor kennels for your hunting companions. Should your group be interested in a hunt, please refer to our link.
The Bunkhouse is a great place for year-round gatherings including family vacations and celebrations, holidays, reunions, retreats and corporate outings. Front lodge rental for overnight guests only. See our link for a virtual tour.

By far one of the best rentals I’ve ever stayed at across all platforms! Absolutely phenomenal, with so many small touches that really show how much effort they’ve put into making it feel cozy and luxurious. Our group of 19 adults loved this place and it’s location and privacy! There was so much space, and we were all amazed at how quiet the bunk rooms stayed no matter how loud we were in the main lodge. Ann even let us rent an inflatable slide for the yard. We’re already hoping to find a weekend next summer to stay here again!
Great lodging experience for people of all ages.
This space was amazing for staying with a large group! The space was as expected and the host was friendly and easy to reach.
This was a perfect place for our annual team camp! Great accommodations and proximity to trails and the lake! Dining area was perfect for a large group as well as the fire pit area.
The barn was a great place for our group of 12 guys to stay for our annual golf trip. The property was perfect and the house worked well to fit all of us. Loved the fire pit and having beds far enough from the main area that people could sleep uninterrupted if others stayed up later. Not having in-person checkins and checkouts would be the only improvement I could think of. Great experience all around!
The Bunkhouse was perfect for our group!! Lots of very comfortable beds, great table seating, well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. The outdoor area was so peaceful and we loved the fire pit. We were impressed with how clean and well maintained the property was. We appreciated the clear check in and check out procedure and lots of recycling! The owner was very easy to work with. I highly recommend this property!!
Clean and well laid out property. Comfy beds, plenty of bathrooms and fun game room/outside area. Kitchen was mostly well stocked. Two dishwashers was great but only one fridge so plan on ice/coolers for beverages. Would stay here again!
Check in and check out requires a walk thru on rules and then to make sure you kept place as you came in. It's understanding but also an inconvenience asmy family and friends usually leave a bit earlier than check out and we head out whenever we're done cleaning and packing. I did message owner we were ready to leave, earlier than 11, and they were able to arrive at the site to check us out. The building itself is big but you get what you see in the photos and most of the front yard. There is a downstairs hall and neighbors behind where we stayed. The hall was rented for a short during our stay some were told to park on next parking spots so hall members can park closest to door. We had no issue with neighbor behind us (didn't see them at all) and hall event was very quick. The kitchen is fully stocked with Utensils, pots, pans, bowl, knives..I've been to a lottt of rentals and always bring my own because all I've been to doesn't have much variety. props to this place, they have more than enough. The bedding was very spacious and beds were comfy. They also have more than enough extra pillows. The place does have two security cameras outside and one inside. I was told it was not watched during our stay and hoping it wasn't and isn't as some of my family/friends felt uncomfortable as it was invading their privacy. The gameroom had Foosball, ping pong, and pool that were in good shape. They have wii but we couldn't find batteries for it and I read reviews they had yardganesbut I couldn't find that either. I didnt care too much for it which is why I didn't ask owners. Like others said, the garbage bags are clear because recycling and garbage is very strict. Only complaint I have is the water from shower and sink smelt strongly like sewer. Other than that, communication was great, place was very spacious and clean. My friends and family were talking that they wouldn't mind if we come back.
This house was a perfect venue for our 20 man annual ryder cup (30-32 yr olds). Comfortable beds, plenty of space inside and out. Adjacency to grafton was convenient. Host linked us up with a shuttle driver who carted us around to the various golf courses we played during our 4 night stay. Next time our group goes to this area to golf Kohler we plan to stay here again.
Spacious accommodations, even for a group as large as ours, which is hard to find on VRBO. Friendly, professional, helpful, and experienced hosts who made everything easy. Lots to do, both on campus and off. Comfortable and clean beds and baths. Impressive and kitschy taxidermy and old west art collection. Tremendous value considering price per attendee, too. A few possible areas for improvement, though I could see them increasing the price: * Kitchen: newer and nicer kitchen appliances and sharper knives (as foodies who brought food and cooked, we're biased; this may not matter for everyone) * Faster internet (mobile hotspots from cell phones worked much better than the on-site wifi) * Provide charcoal for the grills (even on a pay-per-use basis like the firewood; could save trips to the store for guests) Would definitely stay again!
The Bunkhouse lives up to its reviews (which can be rare for certain VRBO properties). Annie was a super communicative, gracious host and our bachelor party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Amazing property. Annie and Dan were great. We hosted a bachelor party and stayed on premise all weekend. Grills, lawn games and everything you needed for a party of 24!
