Stayed Jul 13, 2025Let me preface this review by saying that I live in the lowcountry of SC, 25 minutes from some of the state's most scenic beaches. So it seemed a bit ridiculous to drive almost 8 hours to vacation in a Virginia beach town. But my sister's in-laws live in Cape Charles, and she has been visiting here for 20 years and raving about the town. Well, Cape Charles did not disappoint. Nor did this VRBO.We were thrilled with the walkability of the town. This house is a short jaunt to breakfast at Cape Charles Coffee House, a golf cart ride away from the beach, where food trucks make it unnecessary to pack lunch. Or you can pick up sandwiches to go at Cravings inside Table and Tonic. And the highlight of each afternoon was walking to Brown Dog for ice cream for my personal favorite, Blueberry Cherry Goat Cheese. Yum!This house has charm, comfort and beauty. We loved piling on the L-shaped sofa to watch a movie at night. That is, after cooking a big family dinner in the well-appointed kitchen, with plenty of seating for adults in the dining room and kids on the shaded back porch with ceiling fan. There are three bedrooms up historic stairs that add to the charm of the house. And there is a bedroom/bathroom suite downstairs for anyone uncomfortable navigating stairs.Cape Charles is different from many beach towns in that the historic homes have been preserved rather than demolished for McMansions. The shops and restaurants are local. No Starbucks here. We loved this house & town!

Stayed Jul 10, 2025We loved staying at the Siren of the Cape, the location was great, the house was super cute, our kids had a blast being right by the fire station and getting to see the big trucks, we’re planning on coming back next year!

Stayed Apr 25, 2025A group of 5 friends were in Cape Charles for the Love Run. We love Cape Charles and have stayed in many hotels/homes. This place was spacious and clean. It was in a great location - walkable to everything. The front a back porches allowed us to enjoy the weather. Highly recommend - we hope to return!

Stayed Oct 10, 2023Cape Charles is a beautiful quaint Cheseapeake Bay town! Nice shops and places to eat. We rented the golf cart during our stay. It made getting around east! We highly recommend the Cape Charles Brewery. Great food and craft beers.
