Stayed Mar 5, 2017We spent a week here with our 2 year old and 6 month old and had a wonderful time. San Juan Del Sur is a 20 minute drive, but in return you have a beautiful beach close by that is very quiet and that has beautiful sunsets. The house is very nice and had everything we needed and it was lovely to sit on the porch and enjoy the weather. We would definitely recommend it if you don't mind being away from the town and will definitely stay here again if we visit SJDS.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My husband and I stayed for 5-nights while visiting family who lives in this community. The house was very cozy and clean. As days went on, bugs appeared but this is to be expected with the location and temperatures. We had rented a car for a week, otherwise a taxi would be needed to go into town/market. If you stock your food cupboards, this is a place you can stay and relax for many days. The nearby beach was very pleasant and we explored a few of the others as well. We hiked through the woods and ended up on Toro Beach. The locals are very kind and we felt very safe here.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We are a little disappointed of our stay at this casa; this place was not for us, and it's not that kind of accommodation we were looking for. This casa is situated in a neighborhood of expats. We decided to take this place because in the other comments, people said there was nothing around and we could relax. The other houses are very close as in a suburb, so we couldn't have our intimicy. Many dogs around and some bark during the night, but this was during semana santa. It's a ten minute walk to the beach or we could take the bicycles to this awesome beach, but there's no shade at this beach. The community park gives some shade but we didn't feel comfortable at this place with all the families around. The workers and Cesar are very nice and easy to talk to. Nicaragua seems to have issues with ants everywhere, so be prepared to see some. Maybe this place would be perfect for a family or long term rental.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We loved Casa Catalunya! The house had everything that we needed. We did purchase one additional fan to help with the heat but overall everything was great. The security team was extremely helpful and Massiel (she lives in the neighborhood) came and washed clothes, cleaned the house, and even watched our children for us while we went into town. Her prices are so reasonable. We would definitely stay here again. I would recommend a car since it is a little far to bike into town with little ones. The home is near the beach, several great restaurants, local pulperias, and the produce truck comes right by the entrance several times a week. My family enjoyed the quiet time resting and reading and the kids loved hearing the howler monkeys every morning and night. The owner was extremely helpful via email and Skype with my many logistical questions since we were there for two months. He even purchased additional bikes for the children so everyone would have one to ride. That was their favorite activity. The area is safe and surrounded by many friendly families in the neighborhood and along the beach. We can't say enough great things about our stay in Bosques del Mar. If you are traveling without a car and need the name and number of a reliable taxi driver, please let me know. We met the nicest man and he would come and pick us up whenever we needed him to and take us into town or various activities. You can even schedule him in advance. The best summer of our lives!!!! p.s. bring/buy mosquito netting - it helps in the evenings

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Tranquil setting with short walk to private swimming beach (protected from waves). Looking for surf?...the most consistent surf location in the country (Maderas) is a 2 minute drive away. Short drive to town, zip lining, horse riding..its all right here, just minutes away. But what really sets this property apart is the peace and quite; relax in the hammocks and listen to the monkeys forage in the trees. There are nature reserves bordering all four corners of the small community so it couldn't be more relaxing. A far cry from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. I'll be back...

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Very cute two bedroom house with everything that you need. There's a private beach within easy walking distance and it's protected from the waves so is great for swimming (especially if you have young kids). If you're looking for surfable, Playa Maderas, one of the most consistent surf breaks in the country is just a 3 minute drive away. San Juan Del Sur is just 10 minutes away so driving into town for supplies and restaurants is also very easy. You just can't beat the location or the experience. Relax in the hammocks, read your book and listen to the Howler monkeys foraging on the trees. Its an experience you'll never forget!
