Highlands, North Carolina
Welcome to Truffle Hill! Whether you're coming to Highlands to enjoy one of our many festivals, take in the shopping, art galleries and dining of downtown, or simply to enjoy the great outdoors, Truffle Hill is the perfect place to rest and recharge.
When you enter Truffle Hill, the first thing you will notice is the zen atmosphere that’s been created for you. The cottage’s open spaces and huge windows make it feel like you are in a treehouse. Every corner is designed for cozy chats, reading a good book, or listening to relaxing music.
While there are amazing restaurants in downtown Highlands, the well-appointed kitchen on the main floor at Truffle Hill invites you to pull together happy hour snacks, prepare a casual bite or cook a full dinner while enjoying the company of your guests.
And if you enjoy outdoor spaces, there are TWO large patios to relax on. The patio on the main floor is ideal for enjoying a relaxing glass of wine while taking in the sunset or being bathed in the warmth of the (gas) fire pit. The lower deck has a huge, queen-size bed swing – perfect for the afternoon siesta, or daydreaming the afternoon away.
The best part of this unique cottage is the privacy factor. The lower level is completely self-contained with a living area, bedroom, bathroom and efficient kitchenette. This is perfect if you are traveling with a family that has small children. You will all be in the same house, but they could have space to provide a sense of normalcy in their lives.
Although everyone loves their vacation time, occasionally our guests may have to bring their work with them. The lofts on the top floor of Truffle Hill have two desks ready for anyone in need of a workspace.
Located only 1.5 miles from downtown Highlands in a gated community, it is just far enough from the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to provide easy access to all Highlands has to offer. We hope you'll come and take in all that Truffle Hill has to offer.
Great home and location. Lindsey was very quick to email me back if I had a question. Wonderful overall experience!
We had a wonderful stay over Thanksgiving. The kitchen was well stocked with pantry staples (seasonings, olive oil, etc.) and cookware/cooking tools to prep all of our meals. The location was perfect as it was just a quick 5 minute drive to downtown Highlands, but we especially enjoyed sitting around the cozy living room with wood burning in the fireplace. We’d definitely stay again!
This a beautiful home with everything one could want for a family reunion. Kitchen is well stocked and the home is beautifully furnished. I'm not wildly impressed with the town of HIghland which seems very touristy to me especially during the Christmas holidays when we were there, but Asheville and other areas are not far away. Host was easily accessible and I would definitely consider coming back in the Fall.
This home is beautifully and lovingly maintained. It was very clean, lots of extra linens, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We would love another stay at this home. The interior fire places cannot be beat!
We had a great time at this home. Lindsay was so easy to work with. The 3 floors really gives you room to spread out with a large party. Highly recommended!
This house is wonderful! Super clean- great location! Lindsay was super helpful and accommodating! Would stay here again!
I want to thank Lindsay for the amazing spring break experience my family had at her property as we escaped from Chicago to enjoy some peace in the mountains in NC. She was extremely helpful throughout the check-in process and was always available throughout our trip to help clarify and answer any questions. She made the entire process from beginning to end so seamless and smooth. The property was fantastic. Our grandparents met up with us on our trip and the bottom area was perfect for giving them their space (and in some instances their grandkids as well). Everything about the house with the tall windows with the sun peering through to the various sitting areas to the decorations, the bar area, kitchen and patios were exactly what we wanted to compliment our trip in the Highlands. There were plenty trees around the property for privacy and outdoor grass areas for us to run around with our dog and kids playing made-up games when we felt like staying in for the day. We had major plant-envy with the luscious plants throughout the place. We sat and enjoyed a peaceful conversation around the fireplace and embarked on a puzzle with everyone during the evenings while we watched March madness on the TV. We also enjoyed the office space and workout areas as I had a late evening work calls to = attend and also streamed our favorite peloton workouts on the TV upstairs in the mornings. Our only regret was that we couldn't take advantage of the large queen sized swing bed outside during the day due to the weather but that is definitely on our checklist on our 'next future' trip out there hopefully. The property was also conveniently located close to town as the description noted where we could stock up on food and drinks as well as close to several hiking areas that we planned throughout the stay. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area to re-live our vacation and hope to be back soon. Thank you Lindsay for the wonderful stay that gave us an outlet with our family to get together during the pandemic.
I cannot recommend Lindsay’s home enough! We stayed for a week and a half during Christmas and had the most wonderful time in this cozy, beautiful home. The pictures do not do it justice! The layout of the house makes for great time spent together (we spent most nights with a fire roaring playing games) but there is still plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Plus, is fully stocked for everything you might need, including a gym. The location of the house was also perfect - a short drive (~5 minutes) to downtown Highlands with fantastic restaurants, shopping and the Old Edwards Inn and also close to great hiking spots and Cashiers. It was our first trip to the Highlands and won’t be our last! Finally, I cannot say enough good things about Lindsay as a host - she was so responsive and truly went above and beyond. You must stay here!!
Truffle Hill is an amazing home-beautifully decorated with amazing windows on all levels to invite nature into the living space. The amenities were excellent and the location perfect for enjoying Highlands/ Cashiers and hiking. We will return again!
