IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
• This property is riverfront on a whitewater river. All access and use of the river is at your own risk. You must be prepared to closely watch your children (and husbands/boyfriends)!
• This property used to have a hot tub. It was removed in early 2018. All references to its presence have been removed form the listing itself, but we cannot delete previous reviews which may have mentioned this. feature. It is no longer there.
• Like all major rivers, the French Broad river canyon also serves as a transportation artery. This includes the road that this home is located on and a rail line across the river. There are no crossings, so the trains do not blow their whistles or ring bells... you'll occasionally hear the romantic rumble of the trains over the sound of the river. This is a minor trade-off to being on the riverfront, but we believe you'll agree it's a worthy one.

My only trepidation about giving this lodge a rave review is that it will become too popular and I might never be able to book it again! Truly one of the best VRBO experiences my family has experienced. Every box checks excellence.

This has to be one of the best places to stay in Asheville (dare I say all of VRBO!) It's an amazing property that gives you everything it says. We had a group of 8 and everyone was blown away from the location to the amenities. Every time we walked into the place someone said I can't believe how great this place is. Thank you for an incredible place to stay.

Jason was very polite and friendly. We even had a question on Christmas day and Jason respondsd promptly and our issue was resolved. The beds were a fan favorite and rated a 10 for comfort. Everyone also enjoyed morning coffee and tea in the main room every day with the river as the very peaceful backdrop.

Amazing house with great views, plenty of room for everyone plus places to play both inside and outside games. House has been newly renovated due to Hurricane Helene damage. The pass through window in the kitchen onto the upper deck was great for setting up an outside dinner. We loved the firepit and outdoor spaces.

The kitchen was fully equipped. The property was clean, spacious and exactly as the photos showed. We didn't realize how many steps there would be to get int and around the house. We managed but it was quite difficult getting our luggage into the house and up/down the stairs. We had an amazing time and the river scenery was gorgeous! It is pretty remote from restaurants, etc. we mostly cooked/grilled at home and relaxed on the patios. The bedding/pillows were luxurious! I would suggest the host put tub mats in the upstairs bedroom showers as it was a bit slippery. Also, there was no soap in the showers. It was mentioned that there would be starter bathroom supply, however I expected there would be at least a small soap bar or liquid dispenser in the tub/shoer area. The towels were really great quality. We had a very severe rain and the basement floor had water leakage. It did not disrupt our sleeping areas and Jason was quickly and graciously to the rescue with the maintenance guy showing up to manage the situation. The Biltmore Estate is a must-see. The Centreville Luncheonette was a yummy highlight. We four sisters had a fabulous time there for a reunion!

The house is beautiful, comfortable and well appointed. The bedding so decadent. I may I purchase my own down comforter now! There were lots of separate spaces to socialize and TVs in every room so you can chill on your own when needed.Listening to the river on the patio was so soothing and it was a great outdoor space. Any questions we had were answered promptly, and everyone we spoke to was great.Bring your own seasonings and toiletries, but grocery stores are easily accessible along with food delivery.I loved this house and would stay here again :)

The house was lovely. It was really well equipped with everything you need. Each bedroom had a tv and the beds were so comfortable. Locationwise it wasn't too far from anything. The kitchen update is very nice. We appreciated the quick responses from the owners when we had questions. All of the outdoor seating was fantastic and we loved listening to the river and roasting marshmallows. We had some hiccups with the wifi going in and out throughout our stay. It wasn't too big of an issue, but we did have someone working remotely so he just went to a coworking space in town when needed.

This unique house was perfect for our family of 11 adults and teenagers. The outside patio got lots of use. It was bigger than we expected with plenty of room, tall tables with umbrellas, and a large soft couch seating area. We enjoyed the river and the large yard. Jason was very responsive. The house is very convenient to downtown, shopping, and restaurants.

The house was absolutely beautiful and the layout fit our family perfectly. Loads of gathering space. The dinning room chairs were so comfortable, we found ourselves sitting at the table to just chat and relax. The outdoor space was roomy for relaxing and loads of table/chair space for dinners outdoors. I absolutely loved getting up early in the morning with my 80yr old father, sitting outside with our coffees and listening to the river as the sun and fog rose. Priceless memories were made. Thank you Jason and team. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

We were a group of 16 friends; 8 adults and 8 kids and this house was a perfect size for us! It’s a very beautiful area just outside of Asheville. Great location to groceries and shopping within a short 15 min drive. Jason was very attentive to anything we needed, too! Can’t wait to get back!

My family and I (9) spent five nights at this house. The house is beautiful and spacious. There are many sitting areas inside and outside. The house is built to maximize the river and mountain views from all rooms. The kitchen is big enough to prepare large meals and the kitchen table quickly became the hub of our stay. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The house is quiet and each room has blackout curtains. We drove roughly ten minutes to town. GPS likes to take you on the highway but we preferred taking surface roads. The property was beautiful and as described.

Beautiful, well-appointed home with unbeatable views of the French Broad River. The home has been remodeled updated and is absolutely stunning. Comfy beds, plentiful bathrooms, many outdoor spaces/terraces/patios, well-stocked kitchen, amazing finishes, furnished stylishly, and so much more. Drive to Asheville is easy and takes about 15 minutes to city center. Jason responded quickly to answer any question I had before during our stay. I would highly recommend for large families or gathering of friends. A

The house is excellent and exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately we got hit with a huge storm that forced us out of the property and to another place that the owner has. Both properties are beautiful! Despite getting hit by the storm and losing water and electricity, I can honestly say that the owner cares about his places and the guests that he has. Jason went above and beyond to help us out during our stay and I can’t recommend his places enough. I will be staying at the French River Broad River Lodge next time I visit the area. Thanks again Jason!

My daughter had her wedding at the property and we were able to stay with much of our family in the days leading up to and following the wedding. Jason was extremely helpful and communicative months before our stay regarding questions we had for the wedding. Guests were shocked at how beautiful the location was. The property was perfect and we are looking forward to staying again in the future!!

Great vacation! Plenty of bedrooms and baths. Kitchen is smaller than you would wish but great pantry for you to store your supplies. Has a Kurig and drip coffee pot and slow cooker. But you will need to bring your own colander if you are making spaghetti 😊 We enjoyed the tables and umbrellas on the breezeway for meals. A Muscovy Duck is in residence, our granddaughter named Chuck the Duck. We cooked hotdogs and roasted marshmallows in the fire pit one evening. A wonderful stay with children and grandchildren!
