We had 8 adults and 10 kids and everyone loved this place. Comfortable old Florida style with large gathering place in converted garage. Everything worked and this place is 3 minutes from the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Great beach with awesome shelling!
This property had almost everything you could imagine for the house, the bay, and the beach for all 23 of us! We rented the 5 Suites and each well-appointed unit ended up fitting the needs of all our families! Each unit was well stocked with kitchen and bath supplies including tumblers, blenders, and toasters! There were plenty of towels and linens for all! Clean and convenient! We would highly recommend for any large group of family and friends!
We found everything just as described if not better! We have a large family and it was so wonderful for everyone to have their own unit and also to have a great gathering place for meals and crafts for the kids. The bikes, the corn hole games and the giant connect four kept the grandkids busy and happy! We all loved going to the beach just a short walk away and the kayaks were put to good use also! Everything we needed was provided! We couldn’t be happier with Stump Pass Place! Peter, owner/manager was so responsive and helpful with all the many questions we had as we planned for this trip; he was just an email away with a quick, informative response. Thank you Stump Pass Place! We had a wonderful, memorable family reunion- all 24 of us!!!
Awesome and we had a wonderful time during our family reunion. Thank you Peter and Mary the property owner for accommodating us. I will recommend the place to friends.
Oh my goodness, this home was perfect, three generations two children, teens, adults and elders! The 16 of us were all thrilled, everyone was able to be together or if you needed quiet time to yourself it to was easily found. Nicest home on the block! So clean, beautiful bushes, amenities were perfect many beach toys, and carts to get them there. Bikes, and trikes were wonderful, the kayaks, paddle boards etc. Easy walk to the State Park or to the beaches. A variety of Restaurants nearby. Great places to sight see or visit by car! This home was a wonderful size, a dream come true for all of us to unwind and reconnect. Thank you Peter and Mary Jo, loved your place and appreciated your answering any questions that we had.
Stump Pass Place is amazing. We had a group of 21, including 5 sets of parents, 8 HS Senior boys, and a few other teens. There is more than enough space for all and the garage-turned gathering room was a hit. We had many shared meals out there as we drank, laughed, and tossed bags. The grills are in great shape! The lighting at night around the whole place is perfect. Sunrise in the morning and sunsets at night - all just a short stroll away. Kayaking twice a day in the mangroves = lots of dolphin and manatee interaction. It is very easy to use the carts to get the gear to and from the park. Tell the park rangers you are there for the week and they will have you pay a small 1 time fee and then come and go as you please. Life jackets, chairs, umbrellas, and beach toys mean you don't need to pack a thing. While you can use the golf cart shuttle service on the island that comes by often, we rented our own golf cart to get to and from the restaurants that made it even more fun. The bikes got plenty of use too. We had 2 small normal wear and tear issues that Peter handled immediately. Stump Pass Place, with all of the extra amenities is a great find. And this is an easy island to get off and on quickly, unlike many other islands in the area. About 20 minutes away is Venice, a great place to spend a day. Shop in downtown Venice, have an appetizer and a drink on the patio at TJ Carneys, and then go to Sharky's On The Pier for great food, drinks, and sights. Then head back to Stump Pass Place for peace and quiet. Thank you Peter for such an awesome experience.
The property, rooms, and owners re fantastic. Everything you need for a great vacation. Loved it!
We loved our July 14-21 stay at Stump Pass Place. There were 18 of us and we occupied all 5 of Peter’s units. They were all well-appointed and very well maintained. We had one minor issue with the a/c in one of the units but Peter was in touch with me within minutes and the problem was resolved that day. Unit #5 (the 3 bedroom) is where our group would meet to prepare meals. The kitchen had most of the items you would want/need. There were several sets of nice dishes, silverware, coffee cups and wine glasses. There is also a nice, long dining table that seats 10-12. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The sheets were soft, the bath towels were heavy (not thread bare) and beach towels appeared new and were a nice size. As others have stated, Peter has provided kayaks, wake-boards, 8 bicycles, lots of beach chairs, umbrella’s, beach toys and a couple of wagons to use to pull these items to the beach. There are 2 outdoor showers and a shell cleaning area that our kids LOVED! Although our group congregated together in the front, each unit does have its own designated charcoal grill and outdoor seating/table space. This is a quiet residential area only a few blocks from several eating establishments and the public beach. Our group loved the Sandbar Tiki and Grille. The only problem we had, which has absolutely nothing to do with the accommodations, location or the owner, was the red tide (red algae) that happened to be occurring during our stay. This did cause us, sadly, to have to leave several days early. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time although there was Red Tide occurring at the beach so we didn’t get to lay out there like we’d hoped. The bikes and kayaks were awesome and we used them every day, the bars and restaurants fun and had good food. Karaoke nights (Sun/Wed) at the White Elephant were a blast!! We took our boats out daily to nearby islands and went to Punta Gorda for a “Paint with a Twist” night. We took walks on the beach where we discovered lots of sharks teeth and actually one perfect cowrie shell... Our party of 20 rented the entire place for our reunion and it really was awesome. A private pool would make it absolutely perfect but I can’t think of what feature to remove for a pool to fit so I guess they just need to buy the property next door for that ?. If we come back to this part of Florida in the future we would absolutely consider staying here again and I highly recommend it ?. The owners are very nice and have created a wonderful beach retreat - thank you!!!
We have stayed further south at Boca Grande in the past so we loved how close we were to restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping! We had the whole property for a large group and loved the setup because each couple had their own private suite with space in each unit for smaller kids and the 3 bedroom suite upstairs was large enough for the preteens to have 2 bedrooms and a king suite for parents. The walk to the beach is really about 2-3 minutes and the house is supplied with beach chairs, umbrellas, carts, noodles etc. The downside to the beach access is there are no stairs or ramp at the sea wall. From the upstairs there is a small partial view of the gulf if you stand at the kitchen window.
