The property was located close to main, making it easy to access shopping and restaurants. It also has a pet friendly policy which made it possible for us to stay there. The property manager was very accommodating and helpful.

Staying at Fred's house was such a perfect choice. I couldn't believe how every detail was covered, and every single element was dripping with character. It was like an actual dream, it went by so fast...Would stay here again without a second thought! Enjoyed the full kitchen, claw foot tub, hot tub for 2 out back – and very clever, comfortably appointed furnishings. I also had an excellent experience working with Absolute Charm, the team is top drawer. Thank y'all.

The house is darling with the decor matching the rustic German style. Perfect all around. Plenty of room, comfy bed, and great location. Maintained very well. We hope to stay there again on our next trip to Fredericksburg.

This is a perfect sized home to spend an exciting weekend in Fredericksburg. The comfortable bed and sheets are so welcoming after a long day spent at the wineries. Enjoy a quiet morning enjoying your coffee sitting in the backyard or sit on the front porch! You’ll love it either way. Main Street and all the shopping and restaurants are only a short walk away, too. We’ll be back to spend another weekend at Fred Haus!

Wonderful home away from home at Fred Haus! Great location for easy access both walking/driving for visiting wineries/shopping or just hanging out. Our dogs loved it too - felt secure, welcomed and a wonderful 4 days was had by all. Definitely will come again!

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Fred Haus! It is a perfect location for walking to all the shopping on Main Street! And it is very quiet and peaceful at night! Very cozy for 2 people! Nice little fenced yard. Our medium-size 5 yr old doggie loved it too! The kitchen could use a bit more lighting and the tub/shower is tight. But for a very old stone home - they did a wonderful job!

Bed was worn; we rolled to the middle of the bed. Bathtub and shower was too small. Three wasp nests on the front porch. Wasps were buzy building on other side of porch the next day. Although the house was very nice, the above problems should have been observed and corrected.

We loved the charm and character of the Fred Haus. The house was very clean and it was the perfect location to walk to Main St. While technically private, the hot tub is in view of the front porch of the house next door so we didn't use it. The mattress on the guest bed also needs to be replaced as there was a large dip in the middle of the bed. We would absolutely stay here again though!

Probably time for mattress change. Probably shouldn't have reserved for so many nights without knowing whether mattress had been maintained. The downpour sat pm caused the spa cover to drop a lot of material into spa but was enjoyable prior to that. May be time to replace cover? Or a cover's cover if exposed to elements. Thanks

My husband and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The house itself inside is very cute in all its ways. The outside, however, is not like the picture. The landscaping was pretty outrageously ignored. Weeds & bushes everywhere. We wanted to get in the hot tub, but the bushes & weeds were too bad. The mattress isn’t comfortable at all. The head part is lower than the rest as well. The shower is probably the biggest disappointment though. There’s no place to put anything you’re using. I’d suggest a caddie of some sort. The curtain kept getting in the way, the hot water lasted maybe 10 minutes as well. I can get over the other stuff, but honestly the shower is what makes me not want to return. It would probably be a good idea to upgrade to a small walk in possibly.

Outside- The pictures are not an accurate view of what you're getting. The yard has been neglected for some time and is overgrown with weeds and unkept bushes. The backyard is uninviting and no way would we get in the hot tub. The front porch could use a good cleaning and was unusable due to mosquitos. Inside- while very clean, especially for the age of the house, it's very dark. The bed isn't very comfortable and definitley needs all new linens. The shower is very difficult due to the space you have in it. I will give it location. We could walk to Main Street very easily.

One little issue. When we folded the blankets down on the bed there were little black hairs on the side of the bed next to the window. I would have changed snd washed the sheets but didn't see an extra set. It was also to late to call. The bed smelled clean so I brushed them out and went to bed. Loved the house and will definitely stay again.

Loved all the plants outside and the way the yards are designed. There still being flowers and butterflies in October was nice. Same with the furnishings inside. Perfectly placed unique pieces.

Very charming house and 1.5 blocks from the downtown area. Loved the stone walls mixed it with the antique wood floors, doors etc. Front porch was wonderful however it needed a good sweeping which I gave it. The bedroom with The quaint antique closet was wonderful. However the bed was lower at the head than the feet - made for interesting sleeping. I tried to get under it and adjust it as I could see the support pillar was sideways but couldn’t lift the bed enough by myself to solve the problem.
