Fort Awesome! Ocean Front View, Agate Beach, Newport, Oregon

The house and view were great!However, kitchen drawers were dirty, couch in main room had snot on it (which I cleaned), quite a few cobwebs around the ceiling, and the air filter was very thick with dust. Regardless, the house was so nice that we were able to ignore those issues pretty quickly.

The house’s view of the ocean and lighthouse was spectacular. It was so relaxing to look out and see the ocean and the sunset was beautiful

Beautiful view

Nice stay, easy booking and check-in, very clean. Top bunk had no rail, and only one TV was a smart TV. Not sure why we haven’t seen the return of the security deposit. It’s been two weeks and no word about that. Nice primary shower. Didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub.

We love it so much that it’s become a Thanksgiving tradition! We have already booked it for Thanksgiving next year which will be our third year at Fort Awesome for the holiday. We love cooking here and enjoying our sweet Duck for the holiday.

We appreciate how clean and comfortable this home was. Was very relaxing, which we liked.Though we had highly anticipated using the hot tub ( we are missing ours) it was not at all clean enough to get in.

We had a wonderful stay in Newport! The home was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The view was absolutely stunning — the perfect backdrop for morning coffee or evening sunsets. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic stay.

Lovely stay, beautiful views and home.Trail to the beach as described...is very sketchy so we did not attempt it and drove to a 2 min away beach access that was great!The views from the living room and deck/hot tub area are amazing! Lighthouse and waves crashing...sunset,top notch!! Dined in Depot Bay, amazing restaurant called The Tidal Rave just a short 10 min drive away, food was amazing!....walked downtown Newport shops, coffee shops and had lunch one day at Rogue.Only downfalls to our stay was we were unable to wash clothes/towels as the washing machine was not working (drywer was fine) so messaged VRBO contact to let them know and a few things were not clean upon arrival (freezer and floor under dining table). Also told the VRBO agent and they were very apologetic as soon as I sent the message.Would recommend for families or a friends trip!We had an amazing time on our girls beach trip!

What a beautiful and well-appointed house. We loved the views and how comfy it was. We found the beautiful trail down to the beach and enjoyed a beach walk. We would stay again for sure!!

This house is beautiful and the lighthouse/ocean view is incredible. The kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable, and everything was extremely clean. This is a great place to relax and really appreciate being alive. We have stayed here twice now and are hoping to do so again. Newport is a great little harbor town with many interesting things to do. The property is convenient to all activities, great restaurants, and shopping. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Our stay was fantastic and we can’t wait to come back!

We had a amazing stay. The view from the front room or the deck was the best. You look our over the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing. Nice quiet neighbors.

Very comfortable property in walking distance to Yaquina Head. Loved the location and the host was extremely responsive.

We loved staying here. The house is in an excellent location and very clean. The kids had so much fun at the tide pools minutes away. Thank you for a fun stay.

Clean comfortable house with amazing views

This was a lovely property with the most amazing views ever! The location was perfect as a starting point for daily excursions and easy access to grocery shopping for stocking up. The home was exactly as described and came with a well equipped kitchen that made cooking a breeze. Speaking of breezes, it was wonderful to be able to open the windows to have ocean breezes throughout the house. We enjoyed the separate den and the fantastic jacuzzi! The beds were comfortable enough and the bathrooms were nice. We struggled trying to use the TV in the main living space but no worries, there was so much to do and also it was a lovely space just to relax.

Wonderful stay at a beautifully restored property. Property was wonderfully furnished and maintained. Definitely a great spot for a family retreat.

Beautifully updated house with big windows. The deck with chairs was really relaxing at the end of busy days. Beds comfortable. Only note: the do not provide toiletries,, so bring your own soap!

We had an amazing time at this home. Close to good restaurants and activities. This home is clean and beautifully decorated.

I’m pretty picky about cleanliness and Fort Awesome hit the mark. The property was beautiful, and we loved it. Some people noted that the area felt sketchy, and I disagree. We had no problems with security or feeling like we should be worried about it. The hot tub was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was nice as well. I brought my own pots and pans because I’m picky but you could get away with making a couple of meals with what is provided. The view is amazing and this place feels very homey for being a rental. All of the shared living spaces were good for lounging for 4 people, and would be good for up to 6! The seating was comfortable, tvs well placed and worked, and plenty of room to eat in the dining area. The WiFi was excellent throughout the house, which is a plus because cell service is iffy on the coast. There was also cable that included the regional sport package (Root Sports for MLB). Overall, I would absolutely book this again!

The house was very comfortable with a fantastic view. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

We loved our stay so much that we booked it again for Next Thanksgiving before even checking out. That view is stunning and we loved our daily walks on the beach. The kitchen is fully stocked and (besides groceries)- had everything we needed to make a fantastic Thanksgiving feast! The ultimate surprise of the trip was visiting the Tide Pools! Can’t wait until next year!

Great place with hot tub and accommodating host !! Went for the King tides -and even though we missed them by a few days-we still had a great time !

Stayed for a girls weekend. The house is beautiful, clean and had very sufficient amenities in the kitchen for cooking. Timely responses to questions regarding booking.

The house is decorated so nicely to really have time to rest and relax while listening to the ocean waves.

We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful house. It's beautifully furnished and decorated, and very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood, conveniently located. Nice to have the fireplace for the chilly weather we had. Spent time sitting on the deck and sketching the lighthouse view. We'd love to come back

We are a group of friends for over 50 years. Every year we pick a location to hang out, watch football and visit tourists locations. We arrived at the Awesome house and found it to be Awesome. The view is to die for and the house was perfect. One level with a beautiful deck and fire pit. This house is everything you need for friends to hang out with. I definitely give it a 10.

Everything was perfect. The best VRBO experience we've had. Lovely, well appointed home with a view that will take your breath away.
